''You are what your record says you are''. Sorry guys but once again I hate to see you surprised. Our record says we do not deserve to be considered anything but a mediocre team in a mediocre league with mostly mediocre players playing mediocre teams attended by mediocre fans in a pitiful situation.

This year is showing shades of the 2011-12 campaign under Taylor. If they get swept by Ohio, it becomes more analogous.

What really sucks about all this is we might have argued about how good we were going to be but we all agreed we would be good. We are not good, we have holes that ish and Hazen will not fix. Im sure at some point this team will do something to trick some of us back to believing its all going to change but its fools gold. I have kept my mouth shut about whitford this year because I really did believe he might be finally turning the corner.. He has not turned anything he cant .

Really no reason to post anymore. Just go back and read the EMU and Ohio threads. This team played with NO heart on its home floor against a crap opponent yet again. The effort, especially defensively, was pathetic. Thompson is the only kid on the team who consistently puts forth effort on the defensive end. We don't get the ball to Teague near enough. Our passing is terrible. We don't block out. Persons is spastic and selfish.
This team, this coach, this program are dead in the water.

This is what our in conference 3 point shooting looks like :
Persons 7-28 .250 Teague 3-8 .375 Walton 0-0 Moses 0-2 .000 Mallers 6-23 .261 Gunn 5-22 .227 Nehls 4-7 .571 Thompson 0-3 .000
This team cannot shoot. We currently rank #318 in three point attempts per game, our lack of production from behind the arc is absolutely killing us.

Someone made the comment last week about this season paralleling the last year of Jarrod Jones and Davis. Man, that is looking more correct with every game. I'll raise my hand on that one

We are looking like we'll end up a middle of the pack MAC team As of right now, that's very generous of you. We've lost 3 home games to start the conference season. All three of those teams have a losing record in conference play.

And the one kid, who, all he can do is shoot, won’t shoot. Unbelievably empty minutes from the bench. Ish and Hazen aren’t going to make that much difference, especially by the time they come back.

Yeah and other than Bumbalough we don't have anyone in the pipeline that can shoot, in fact it gets worse going forward. This is just bad recruiting.

I think we do play hard and with some heart most of the time but tend to play stupid when the pace quickens. To be clear, I believe there’s a difference between heart and toughness. We are not mentally tough, soft in fact, IMO. We are also clearly gassed at the end of the games now because the bench is so thin and gives us almost nothing. Mallers has also fallen off a cliff and our coach is floundering. My bigger issue with the team right now is we don’t value the basketball and constantly try to push pace. The last four games we have tallied 26 assists and 61 turnovers. So we are averaging 6 assists and 15 turnovers a game. Some of that is defensive pressure but most are just dumb unforced errors or bad passes and the lack of assists is appalling. We have zero margin for error and for the foreseeable future this season, if we don’t shoot well we will be marginal.

The 3 point shooting pcts posted by sweep are going to get worse because the starters are tired & they will shoot more of them as they become more desperate. Toledo game was their peak. I also feel some of the underclassmen on this team will transfer at the end of the season.

It's not the underclassmen you should really be worried about.

I also feel some of the underclassmen on this team will transfer at the end of the season. My fear is this, Teague uses the grad transfer rule and leaves for a situation that will better showcase his skill set. Thompson, who will likely enter next season a our #1 point, gets frustrated with Whitford not extending a scholarship and walks . We could be looking at a complete disaster next season.

Five Beatles songs in there.
What? do I have to make Lawrence Welk references for you? Shermzilla, You clearly missed my subtle acknowledgement of your Beatles references by calling myself a Caveman. The classically horrible, Ringo movie with his gorgeous wife to be Barbara Bach. I’m smarter than the average bear...not much though.
