This roster was thin to begin with. 3 spots are tied up with redshirts. One spot is. Walk-in. Two spots are marginal Mac level players. Mallers is giving us nothing. Hazen and ish weren’t starter quality before they went out, although ish was coming on. Who put this roster together? We need depth yet Coleman isn’t good enough to play?
Further, who hasn’t adjusted to the lack of depth? Who hasn’t altered our playing style to hold the fort? Who has failed to adjust in games and then afterwords says golly, maybe I should have gone to Teague more. Maybe I’m not getting enough out of guys.
The answer to all those questions is, Whitford.

The 3 point shooting pcts posted by sweep are going to get worse because the starters are tired & they will shoot more of them as they become more desperate. Toledo game was their peak. I also feel some of the underclassmen on this team will transfer at the end of the season. My fear is this, Teague uses the grad transfer rule and leaves for a situation that will better showcase his skill set. Thompson, who will likely enter next season a our #1 point, gets frustrated with Whitford not extending a scholarship and walks . We could be looking at a complete disaster next season. I think we’re looking at it now.

Definitely need to watch out for Teague leaving. He’s our best player now and Whitford still hasn’t figured that out. Woefully under utilized player. Meanwhile whit just keeps churning out the same shallow quotes after every game.

Oh hell. I forgot about Huggins. Yet another dead roster spot. (Especially since he cut off the bun).

Honestly I can't imagine why he would stay.

With the construction of this roster, I honestly believe Whitford was going all in on this season and banking on getting out of Dodge. Well that plan backfired in stupendous fashion as he grossly overestimated his own coaching ability.

Five Beatles songs in there.
What? do I have to make Lawrence Welk references for you? Shermzilla, You clearly missed my subtle acknowledgement of your Beatles references by calling myself a Caveman. The classically horrible, Ringo movie with his gorgeous wife to be Barbara Bach. I’m smarter than the average bear...not much though. Must be all the marijuana, cocaine and moonshine whiskey I've been doing.

I am almost certain he graduates this spring. The way things are currently structured you almost have to be on time with your credits to remain eligible.

Both Miami and Ball U hit 24 baskets, but Miami hits nine threes and we hit one. We also hit two more FT shots and lose by six. Three close games without Ish and Hazen, chances are we win those three with these two players. We had over ten more opportunities at the basket, why didn’t we go inside more - good question. Why we are always redshirting players when you should be ready for injuries? Regardless, man bun should have been used a few minutes a game to get him ready for times like these. Many of these issues do fall on Whit. His answers in the StarPress not acceptable.
If Ish and Hazen make it back and they get into playing condition before tournament, I feel we could be ok - but what that will mean by than, I am not sure.
Next year, if we keep Teague, could be good if we could have a full rooster. Big if!

This year is showing shades of the 2011-12 campaign under Taylor. If they get swept by Ohio, it becomes more analogous. You're the second person to make this comparison. It does feel that way, but you have to understand just how big a collapse that was. That team lost NINE straight Conference games, at a time the MAC was at historic depths. But yes, the disappointment feels every bit as painful.

That season stands out as terrible even among the many years of BSU basketball failure.
Maybe Whitford is ready to establish his signature failure?
Buckley - going nowhere with the Maui talent. Thompson - telling his players not to trust white people Taylor - 2011-12 season flop Whitford - 2018-19???
