If thats the case BSU needs to take a stand and bring it all out.. Prof would still be wrong but at least get both sides out Rob that would just blow up in their faces. Yea your right instead they will cut a check

I don't see a check, but I do see requirement of a lot of time consuming attention to student "sensitivities."
Yes, Prof was wrong.
Yes, confronting police is potentially dangerous. Race issues and police action always a potential tinderbox. Yes.
Borna racist because he didn't see the race/police angle? That is a leap.
Maybe there's a lesson here, but I see an elaborate coming dog and pony show far exceeding any need for it.
See you at the reeducation camp, cardfan.

Mearns has a lot invested in being community oriented problem solver. In Muncie the problems are both economics and race. Lot of overlap.
No need for him to whip up criticism of a B school faculty member. Plenty out there resent Miller College. B school considerably to the right of most of campus. History of the chasm is about 40 years...but I suppose it's possible this letter is part of a full court press.
With the press coverage of Papa John, the ghost of Ronnie Thompson, I understand a little overreacting by administration.
Just hate the pain in the ass it means, all these efforts he promises will mostly come out of the hide of faculty who are not a problem.
The lack of social skills, old fuddy duddyism, academic elitism, and cultural ignorance issues are the problem, one shared by other faculty across campus.
Students may be confronting this with a good deal of bias too. Agism, foreign culture both entered in. Lion King is seeing only race.

Anyone to the right of Karl Marx is a pariah on campus.
The response has been ageist, xenophobic, and racist.

Without seeing the whole incident from the start, it's difficult to know what to think about this. It does look a lot like the professor is sort of an oddball and probably a major dick. One thing is clear though. This is absolutely a dream come true for the student Benson. Does anyone doubt for one second that he is absolutely ecstatic to get all this attention as an alleged victim? For him, it's like hitting the lottery. He'll be riding this and bragging about it for the rest of his life.
