I think people planning to riot in rural, white neighborhoods are in for a rude awakening. There are a lot of "Second Amendment Enthusiasts" in my neighborhood, that wouldn't appreciate a gang of ne'er-do-wells threatening their safety or property. Are they willing to actually kill people though? To rhyme like the president, people start dyin' and the courts start tryin'. Even if you believe you're reasonably defending yourself or your property you're still likely to face a trial to check if a jury sees it your way.

Yea that's the last thing they want to do.. Im not a Gun advocate by any means but I own a couple guns.. I also can not think of one of group of friends that does not own a Gun of some sort. Now would we all have the Balls to use them. I do not know but if someone was Threatening my family I would hope I have enough guts to kill a bitch

That's the beauty of living in a red state. Castle Doctrine applies.
Honestly, I'd have a hard time pulling a trigger on someone, but if they're threatening me or my family, I think self-preservation instincts take over.
There's not a jury in Indiana that would convict someone protecting their home against a lawless mob.

There isn't much danger of demonstrations going into residential areas in suburban or rural locales.
And very little danger of looting in any residential neighborhood.
Here in Muncie if you live near the Village there is some danger it is drunken student who thinks this is his friends house...
But although killing someone is going to bother you there is not much chance of legal liability if somebody is breaking into your residence.

Now, the the destruction of things during the sweet 16 run, that was just good kids having fun, right? You know my wife and I talked about this the other night.. I fully admit that if we had ever won a damn thing and there were thousands of students "celebrating" I know my dumb college ass would have been involved. I would have also known and understood that because I was doing that I was probably going to jail. If I did get gassed or the shit beating out of me I know I would have sobered up the next day knowing I fully deserved every bad thing that was coming to me

Now would we all have the Balls to use them. I do not know but if someone was Threatening my family I would hope I have enough guts to kill a bitch I'm kind of stuck in the middle when it comes to guns. I'm more of a collector of old, historically significant firearms, not a "gun nut." But I also have a few modern guns for home defense, personal protection, etc. And I think there's something to be said for maintaining a firearm suitable for homeland defense, if it were ever needed. What I hate are the gun fetishists, who constantly go on about some gun they can never afford, that costs 5 bucks a round to fire. Then on the other side are the idiots who think nobody should own a gun, period. Mostly outspoken celebrities, who have bodyguards, and don't have to worry about protecting themselves... even though their bodyguards are packing. A side note: I introduced my son to target shooting when he was 8, after he had been having trouble concentrating in school. Target shooting takes focus, and for safety, you need to be meticulous in how you handle it. Plus, there's a sense of accomplishment when you get a bullseye. After he started target shooting, he started improving in school (which I know sounds odd!), so I think there is some merit with teaching kids how to shoot, with appropriate supervision.

Now, the the destruction of things during the sweet 16 run, that was just good kids having fun, right? I didn't PERSONALLY wreck anything... but I saw a few people who did. The worst I did was flip a table at the Chug when McCurdy hit that free throw against Oregon State.

I am the same.. I have Family guns that have been passed down that I learned to shoot as a kid/teenager.. Then I have a Modern Pistol and one of those scary guns. The pistols and the scary gun have went to a gun range less than 10 times combined in the 15+ plus years Ive owned them. Other than than that they have only been taken out of the gun safe once a year to be cleaned. If a law were passed tomorrow saying I could not have them I would go turn them in and I would not say a word. Until then I know they are here if they are ever needed. If you pushed me and made me vote yes or no on guns I guess I would vote Yes because I feel like there are many more people like us who own guns for the right reasons.

I got no problem with guns. like Lurkin, I’m not so sure about the gun fetishists. How many/how big/powerful/expensive do you really need? Maybe it makes them feel bigger....
Home/ personal defense is cool. Paramilitary types who want to fight the gubment? Eh.

I've been thinking about buying a gun for some time. Witnessing the inability/unwillingness of some politicians to protect the citizenry from scum has pretty much decided me now

Now, the the destruction of things during the sweet 16 run, that was just good kids having fun, right? Don't forget the practice field goal post that ended up in the duck pond after we beat WMU in 2008. My biggest regret from my college years was not being a part of that. Even better was the snarky letter to the editor ripping the students for taking away something that "our kickers use to get better," and telling them that if any of our kickers had a problem the rest of the season, he was holding them responsible.
