I think the Haitians are mostly called migrants.
Seems a long story why they are there. It's not really fair to characterize them as anything but desperate sad cases.
Haiti is a failed lawless state, a country crushed by disasters. There is a history back to 2010 earthquake of people fleeing to South America. Then later, with the Olympic construction attracting more another wave, and the government failing driving more recently. Their cheap labor is no longer needed and the countries originally giving them guest worker or other visas revoking them.
Mexico failed to stop the migration North, although they theoretically don't allow Haitian migrant/refugee/whatever.
They can't stay in Mexico, don't qualify under US law, some can't go back to Haiti, somewhat akin to the Cuban refugees fleeing repressive government, but maybe more like gypsies in Europe. Homeless, without a country.
What a mess. On top of that Haiti is resisting repatriating them. Sending them back to South America isn't an option. They are illegals there.
Biden seems to be basically using Trump administration policy to deport them.

But never fear, as long as they have been together on the road and as long as they have been there they all have natural immunity by now. No danger to America any way you look at it Tell that to all the US Border Petrol Agents and their families who have contracted and in some cases died of Covid-19. www.kens5.com/article/news/special-reports/at-the-border/report-recent-surge-of-covid-among-border-agents/273-26b45367-e745-4b31-afda-eebf73f3f60cI guess they didn't get the memo. And as for comparing the conditions of a 3 hour outdoor college football game to the squalor of the camp under the bridge in Del Rio, TX, you are out of your f#%king mind. Here's an article from CNN so you can educate yourself on the conditions there. www.cnn.com/2021/09/17/us/texas-del-rio-migrants-bridge/index.htmlSome of the low lights from the article. "Thousands of migrants -- including families, pregnant women and babies -- were crowded in the makeshift camp under the Del Rio International Bridge on Friday. They sleep in the dirt, surrounded by growing piles of garbage, exposed to the elements and without much food and water in hopes of being processed by the overwhelmed US Border Patrol." Take a good look at some of the 25 pictures in the article. They include the picture of the horse reins some Liberal are claiming to be whips. Yea, looks and sounds just like a college football game where you are free to walk down a few steps to get refreshments and use the restroom anytime you like. You really are a moron.

I have no idea why you think any of that. And, no idea at all what this has to do with the discussion above. Because he's dodging responsibility for the border crisis, using OSHA to get around the Constitution, and doing his usual "I'm a victim of tragedy so you can't get mad at me" routine. And Jen Psaki is helping him do it. It's why his approval ratings are tanking. People don't respect him. And that's why he tries to come off as a tough guy when people call him on it.

That report, unverified, is the entire Rio Grande Valley, where vaccination rate is low in the US. They were in contact with their own community, as well as migrants and not necessarily just the Haitians. Butt let's not worry about the facts, and let's assume the report is true. Indeed it would dangerous and due to their occupation they are in contact with many who are positive.
As I understand your position the "petrol agents" and families must have exercised their personal choice and assumed the risk. I guess there was no way they have possibly been concerned? Those side effects of the vaccine probably the reason?
But according to you of course, they and their families were not really at much risk, it's just the flu.
I say, thank goodness Biden is mandating Federal employees to vaccinate.

I have no idea why you think any of that. Because Joe has pulled this kind of crap for decades. Early in his political career he campaigned for months falsely claiming his wife and daughter were killed by a drunk driver. The fact is his wife pulled out in front of a truck and no alcohol was involved. You are correct there was no blood alcohol test administered and now there is no longer even an accident report to review. Certainly no proof alcohol was involved. Joe was quite likely wrong to say it.
OTOH I believe these claims of alcohol were made in only a couple of speeches close to the time of the accident, and first responders had expressed the belief as well. Later speeches accurately enough stated he had lost his wife and child in an accident. This claim surfaced again only in social media in 2019 posts by his opponents. There is no record of decades of claims by Biden alleging drunk driving.
Since you enthusiastically support a candidate whose entire career and recent political career is based on claims that include half truth, coverup, outright lies and statements concerning unfounded claims with disclaimer like, "I heard that..." and "somebody says that..." I am assuming you are reevaluating your support based on your new found appreciation of requiring truth in campaigning.

I didn't vote for Hillary and I sat out the Trump/Biden election. Hilary wasn't very lovable was she... Better judgment in 2020, but in Indiana our votes for President weren't likely to make much difference.
Would be nice to see a traditional GOP candidate, but none can win a primary in the current political environment.

Time to catch-up on a few events this past week.
Last week, an FDA advisory committee of scientists voted 16 to 2 to limit Covid-19 booster shots to people over the age of 65 and those over 50 with underlying medical conditions. This Thursday, CDC director Rochelle Walensky broke with her vaccine advisory panel to endorse younger at-risk people returning to work to get the Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot — a rare move that goes against the panel's recommendation.
So Joe Biden is so desperate to get the Covid-19 surge under control, his administration wants to jab everyone he can with a booster shot. Forget about following the science as advised by the FDA.
Booster shots of course only address those already already vaccinated. Biden is panicking about all the break through infections brought on by the Delta Variant. The problem here is he needs booster shots designed to fight the variants, not the original virus.
Speaking of break through infections, hope everyone caught the View today. Two of the 4 hosts about to interview VP Harris were found to be Covid-19 positive a few minutes before Harris was about to enter the studio. The 2 hosts were taken away, while on-air, to quarantine and Harris did the interview remotely to keep her safe from infection.
All the inhabitants of Bidenville in Del Rio, Texas have now been moved on. The bulldozers and clean-up crews have removed all the evidence that was creating great embarrassment for the Biden Administration. An estimated 32,000 illegals are believed to have passed through Bidenville while it existed. Of those only approximately 3,000 were deported back to Haiti (mostly single adult males). The remaining approximately 29,000 were passed into the American heartland. There are reports many of them were flown to Tennessee, Minnesota, and New York. It will be interesting to see if Covid-19 cases increase in those locations over the next week or two. Laura Logan, a reporter on Fox, referred to them as a "Virus Bomb" sent into the American heartland. Unfortunately there is another convoy of over 20,000 Haitians reportedly moving up from Columbia.
This will be 4th weekend of college football and 00's super spreader events. Still waiting for the all the Covid-19 outbreaks to occur around college football towns across America.

Newly leaked documents obtained by private research group DRASTIC "completely contradict" claims made by both China and American immunologist Dr. Anthony S. Fauci about the reality of gain-of-function research being done inside the Wuhan Institute of Virology that may have caused the coronavirus pandemic, according to a former State Department COVID-19 investigator.
On "The Story", host Martha MacCallum reported the documents released by DRASTIC revealed a plan to create a coronavirus – in this case SARS-CoV-2 – that would be more infections to and transmissible via humans. The virus would then be released in batcaves where researchers would test the flying mammals with vaccines to see if they could cure the virus.
The Chinese researchers planned to inject the "super-charged" virus into "humanized mice" to see what the effect on them would be.
Dr. David Asher, the ex-State Department official, told Fox News the biggest takeaway from the new documents is that there is a "smoking gun that explains the specific features of the [virus] sequence that are so peculiar."
"The most genetically unusual piece of the puzzle and the sequence is a 'furin cleavage site', which allows the virus to spread from bats to humans, and among humans in a highly pathogenic way," he said.
"The fact that the Wuhan Institute – with EcoHealth Alliance as their US partner – were applying for funding to do gain of function research, explicitly to endow a bat-borne Coronavirus related to SARS with a furin cleavage site so it could essentially kill humans."
EcoHealth alliance, a New York-based NGO, is run by Dr. Peter Daszak, whom Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently discussed on his program.
Carlson previously reported on Daszak's group's funding of bat coronavirus research in Wuhan, with the help of the taxpayer funding the federal government directed to EcoHealth Alliance.
"We learned that the guy directly tied to bat virus experiments in the lab in Wuhan was the same guy telling the entire world that there was no possibility this virus could have come from the Wuhan lab. Conflict of interest, anyone? It’s absurd," Carlson said of Daszak in June, noting that the doctor organized a letter published in The Lancet that downplayed the possibility the virus could've come from the Chinese lab.
On Thursday, Asher told Fox News he is relieved that in the end, DARPA, the Pentagon's research & development arm, turned down direct funding to the coronavirus project in the Wuhan lab on account of "weapons of mass destruction concerns."
According to Asher, DARPA also felt concerned the research was "pure gain of function – which contradicts Fauci."
"It looks like the Chinese got into a global viral project, which works with this EcoHealth Alliance, and used China’s own funding to conduct the research into advancing the pathogenecity of COVID. Now we have all of the pieces genetically that account for Covid-19 being manufactured in that lab in Wuhan, the Wuhan institute by the bat lady (Dr. Shi Zhengli)," Asher said.
"All the lies that the Chinese had put out -- and all the lies and the cover-up at the NIH and others have been complicit in have now been defeated," he said, as the Bethesda, Maryland federal institute is the umbrella organization of Fauci's NIAID.
Asher called for a formal FBI investigation into the entire situation, calling it a likely "criminal cover-up."
"The fact that the U.S. Government has any relationship still to the Wuhan Institute is criminal in my mind," he said.

This will be 4th weekend of college football and 00's super spreader events. Still waiting for the all the Covid-19 outbreaks to occur around college football towns across America. With the community spread in Texas caused by abandoning mitigation and literally millions not vaccinated, I doubt we will be able to detect the effect of FB games. It still isn't a good idea, but you have a point we won't be able to detect much increase due to FB.
My point is that we will wait longer for negligible impact by the Haitian migrants who are being processed at sites around the country in MUCH smaller numbers. In most of the US adding a few thousand people, even if not vaccinated, to the local population is not significant. This young population of migrants was quite likely to have already acquired immunity (as I assume you realize as champion of herd immunity through natural means), and they are quite unlikely to burden hospitals in US hot spots.
You are far too worried about the disease implications here if you comfortable with large crowds at FB games where the fans return to mainstream American life.

On "The Story", host Martha MacCallum reported the documents released by DRASTIC revealed a plan to create a coronavirus A lot of maybes in this story. That some possible research maybe was to be carried out, maybe without proper controls, and maybe related to projects funded by the US is certainly possible.
A bit murky but not nearly conclusive that the lab leak hypothesis is most likely. But as the article says "The DARPA proposal doesn’t “mean that much for our understanding of the origins of the pandemic,” he said, “but it does diminish the trustworthiness of the research groups involved.” Especially it hurts the credibility of Peter Daszak.
The thing that is more certain is that the same leaked documents do NOT show that funding for plan was granted...the "complete contradiction" is dubious at best.
In any case it is hardly relevant to the issue of whether we are NOW pursuing the best methods to fight the pandemic. Dr Fauci seems to be speaking quite soundly on that matter. Masking, distance and vaccine are all proving sound methods to fight infectious disease.

Again, all this is not what is important. It is a distraction from the important message that masking, distance and vaccine are all proving sound methods to fight infectious disease and that states are impeding our fight to mitigate the harm of the pandemic. As long as states are enabling antivax sentiment and actually forbidding sound public health doctrine on masks we are in trouble. The bad news is that the President's messaging was premature on a universal vaccine plan for a booster. That is a setback no doubt, not as great as the barriers to initial doses of vaccine and to mitigation being thrown up by states.
The good news is that when Moderna is approved and when the data is in on safety and dosing for young children we are going to be as well off as possible.
Let's hope it is in time to avoid major problems during the time for flu season. We can't have much confidence we will have the same mitigation in place we had last year. Although we should avoid the fatalities thanks to better immunity in vulnerable populations for Covid, without distance, masks and better vaccination for both flu and Covid, we aren't done with this.
