I thought Ballard was a good GM. Now I don't. Irsay has always said he's willing to spend, but instead the Colts got themselves taken down the Wentz rabbit hole and now with no first round pick to use as leverage in a trade, they can't do much of anything. Ballard seems to think the WR group they have is fine. After watching 4 incredible games this past weekend its pretty damn clear that if you have a QB and a stud WR you can go a long way. The colts have neither. Great running back, but that doesn't win play off games. (or even play IN games)

As a GM or coach, you tie yourself to certain players and if those players don't produce, it can take you down. Long before Ballard and Reich tied their wagon to Wentz, they tied it a receiver. People wondering where the Colts' Ja'Marr Chase or Cooper Kupp or Tyreek Hill are need look no farther than the Colts bench, which is seemingly where Paris Campbell has resided since being drafted. Speed and talent can't do anything if it can't stay on the field.
And how many draft picks has Ballard used on a DE, missing on practically every one although the jury might still be out on Paye. And because he's missed so much, he's had to keep going back to the well when he might have used those picks on another position.

Mcafee, on his show, says Aaron Rodgers will be Colts QB next year

Mcafee, on his show, says Aaron Rodgers will be Colts QB next year A bit hard to believe but McAfee does talk with Rodgers a lot so ... maybe he knows something. But for a guy who's complained about his supporting cast in Green Bay to come to a place with an even worse supporting cast seems strange ... unless he plans on bringing Davante Adams with him.

No way Rodgers will come to Indy. Mcafee is just an entertainer now and can say stuff like that.

The Colts couldn't afford Rodgers, unless they could get something for Wentz. And the WR situation is not attractive, so his numbers wouldn't be great. I could see him wanting to play in a dome, though.

What Rodgers said was he could come to Indy to make the announcement of his next move on Mcafee's show. People heard what they wanted to hear "I'm coming to Indy to play" and ran with that. Not at all what he said and no way is he gonna play for Indy. Indy is not an attractive situation for a QB who wants weapons out on the edge. Indy does not have that and apparently Ballard doesn't think they need it. Colts can't afford him anyway. He'll end up in Pittsburgh, Vegas, or Denver, I think.

Pittman is a beast. Get someone on the other side and they are fine at the WR position.

Pittman is a beast. Get someone on the other side and they are fine at the WR position. He is, but he's 2, not a 1. They need a guy opposite of him who can stretch the field/beat man coverage. Hilton used to be that but he's well past his prime. Get that type of WR and Pittman will have more opportunities for big plays. They need a TE they can count on as well.

They need a speed WR that can get open. They've got some speed already, but they can't seem to create separation.

And the underhand throws out of the end zone... Wentz needs to knock off that shit.

And the underhand throws out of the end zone... Wentz needs to knock off that shit. Half of his issues I think they can coach out of him with repetition and film study. But the other half, damn, he just panics or tries to make a hero play and it’s who he is.
