During conference BSU will take a weekend trip to Oregon in April.

Looking around the state, every D-1 baseball team is playing mid-week OOC games. All MAC teams, except BSU, are playing mid-week OOC games.
What's the deal with Ball State? I miss those Purdue, Indiana and Indiana State games.

I certainly don't see any gain by not playing ISU, Butler or BT schools.

Saw last two games against Coastal. Cardinal.Pitching and batting are both struggling. Lot of walks, lot of WPs. I think we are batting .180 something.
Froze my butt. Maybe they will finally hit some warm weather in Tallahassee.

Not sure Florida A&M is a powerhouse but the warmer weather is helping the Cards. Took a DH today and now have won first 3 against FAMU

Happy to get some wins which I think the team needs. I to wonder how Florida A & M compares to MAC teams. Hope we can get beat them again tomorrow.

Reading blogs of other MAC West schools this afternoon both NIU & EMU sites want to cut baseball. NIU says their field & stands are worse than most high schools. Also complain about their coaches salaries being so poor. NIU's coach is making $85,000 & has been there for 9 yrs. I think that schools in northern Illinois & Michigan can't compete with southern schools do to the climate differences. Summer play would help. Feel free to voice any opinions to improve MAC baseball I would to hear them. So Florida A & M may compare with NIU now 0-11 & EMU now 1-5. MAC baseball is in bad shape in half the league. Strong programs are us, Kent & CMU with Miami & Ohio ok. I suspect odds of NIU, EMU, Akron,& Toledo possibly joining Buffalo in dropping programs is likely with the big thing keeping them a float are former players giving generously to their schools to keep them going.

I think that schools in northern Illinois & Michigan can't compete with southern schools do to the climate differences. So CMU should be pretty bad? They shouldn't have been competitive in the NCAA tourney last year? Maine made the CWS six times, and the tourney 16 times. That was a few years back. With indoor facilities, climate has much less effect than it did. It is about getting the right personnel, and making them comfortable to stay.

CMU & Kent have been good but it's because the league is going to get a team in the tourney every yr & will occasionally win a game or two there. Only Kent in 12 got a team to the College World Series. Maine has not reached the College World Series since the 80s. Playing college baseball in the summer would make it more competitive for northern teams & attract fans especially as the number of minor league teams grow smaller as MLB owners don't want to pay for large numbers of players there. It would help the 300 schools playing D1 baseball bring in more money from the programs which currently are suffering from athletic department shortages of money.
