"BSU’s system of play"
What system of play?

I’ve been watching Indiana HS basketball for over 60 years and I’ve never seen a better point guard than Luke Brown. I never saw Oscar Robertson play however. Oh For Christ's Sake............. This reminds me of Cloverdale fans telling everyone how great Cooper Neese was going to be.

If he does end up being the second coming of Big O, would this be yet another sign of the pending apocalypse?

He is one of the top 5 players ever in Indiana, just a really great basketball player. Luke Brown was a top 10 player last year. Big difference.

I'd be perfectly happy with the second coming of Scott Skiles, or even Bryce Drew.

I don't think he's going to make much difference. It's like me trying to cook. I can go buy the best ingredients for a recipe but I still produce something people can't eat. Whitford does that to the game of basketball. Plus, Brown would have gone high D1 if he was the difference maker some of you think he is. Honestly I've got a bad feeling about the kid. Heck, I don't know the kid beyond social media and what he did on the court in high school. I hope he turns out to be a Ball State legend. The kid could flake out on us. (not at all saying he will) I think his vagueness about leaving Stetson is about that tiktok girl he was involved with. Being at Stetson caused his OCD and anxiety to go into overdrive? Let's hope that playing for Whitford doesn't cause it to be a problem again.

I'd be perfectly happy with the second coming of Scott Skiles, or even Bryce Drew. If he works hard he might be A.J. Graves, he is not going to be David Rivers.

I'd be perfectly happy with the second coming of Scott Skiles, or even Bryce Drew. I'm hoping he can achieve what Michael Menser did for the Sycamores in the late 90's. Not considered a P5 prospect, but did leave his mark in Terre Haute.

I would guess all of the above are optimistic for any small school player. But possible. Who knows?
Except David Rivers, not that he is necessarily an out of the world player, but he is a different kind of PG and not comparable for that reason.

He was 6' 0" 170 pounds an excellent shooter and passer, but not a great ball handler or explosively athletic.

In regard to Luke Brown being the best point guard I’ve seen play in my lifetime, I am just expressing my own personal opinion. I’m sure everyone on this board has their own opinion and that’s the way it should be. After watching every BSU game this season and the enormous struggle we have had at the point guard position, I am personally thrilled Luke Brown becomes eligible December 21st!

I’ve been watching Indiana HS basketball for over 60 years and I’ve never seen a better point guard than Luke Brown. I never saw Oscar Robertson play however. Anyone that does not think Luke will make an impact is in for a real shock! He makes everyone on the court better and his work ethic and leadership on the court is impeccable. Yes, it will take some time for him to get comfortable with his teammates and to adjust to the college game and BSU’s system of play. However, when he does, he will help change the face of BSU basketball and crowds will return to Worthen Arena. The Cards will be exciting and fun to watch! Welcome to Cardinal Country Luke Brown! We currently have Bumb, Cochran, Jacobs, Windham and Sellers in the guard rotation. None are great. If Brown is truly transformational I am all in favor of him playing immediately. The question for his coach should be is he truly transformational to burn a whole year of eligibility? I'd define transformational in our program as Ray or Bonzi. The two best freshman we've ever produced in my lifetime. Both were immediately an all-conference caliber player who made everyone around them better. He doesn't have to have their same type of game but would need to be that type of an impact. Ray led his team to the single-class state championship and then transformed his body and game over the summer to dominate at the MAC level. Bonzi was a freak stud athlete and could have played anywhere in the country with his talent. So, other than being the best PG in 6 decades of Hoosier Hysteria since the Big O, is he transformational?

Blackford people will come out to see him. That should increase our attendance by dozens. Unless, of course, we set up a meth concession stand...

Doubtful that Luke Brown is close to any of these 3, at least at this point in his career.
