The team is now 3-0 after decisive wins against Maryville, Tusculum and George Mason with all matches ending 3-0. Big test next weekend against University of Hawaii - the 2021 NCAA Champions. Matches both Friday and Sunday nights at 7 at Worthen.

I understand Hawaii was without several starters but a nice win nonetheless. Nice atmosphere. Jenness was huge.
Was anyone at the men's basketball game and the volleyball game? The box scores list the basketball game as having about double the attendance of the VB game. But it almost looked to me like if you doubled the VB attendance they might have had to take the tarps off of some of those seats.

That’s unbelievable they listed the basketball attendance nearly twice the volleyball attendance! There were also at least 4 times as many BSU students at the volleyball match and the crowd rocked Worthen Arena! Whoever did the volleyball attendance made a huge miscalculation and should be relieved of duties!

I was at the basketball game came home and started watching the match. After we win the second set my son and I hopped in the car and headed back up. We both said there was as many if not more at the v ball match. I was surprised to see so many Hawaii fans though. I guess there coach is from Warsaw though so that might have been the reason..

I was surprised at the size of the Hawaii crowd also. They do list one kid on their roster as being from Indianapolis. I also wondered if families of kids from the continental U.S. might just travel with the team when they make these trips, but most of those kids are from California or the West Coast where they would play every year so there wouldn't necessarily be any reason for them to come to Muncie.

Yes - not to take anything away from the victory, but Hawaii was without four players (COVID protocol) - including their best two starters. Hopefully they will be back on Monday so we can spank them at full strength.

The story I read from the Honolulu Star Advertiser said their setter and middle blocker were the only ones who missed because of COVID, and that they didn't even make the trip.
The two outside hitters are apparently with the team.
Not to tear down this Hawaii team too much, but they also graduated their top 3 hitters off that national championship squad. I'm sure they'll still finish the season strong.

The truth is its not as big as a win in real life as it is on paper but it's still impressive and it's getting Volleyball some press and interest so it's a win win...

Lindenwood has wins over Ohio State and Lewis and nearly led BSU 2-1 in Muncie and played Loyola a tough 3-1 match in Chicago. The only lightweight in the MIVA this year is Quincy. It is going to be a fight to the finish. BSU RPI is #4. Huge matches in Worthen Thursday and Saturday with McKendree and Lewis. McKendree gave Loyola both of their conference losses.

So is this a bit like basketball where only the MIVA TOURNAMENT winner gets the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament ?? Did I read someplace where winning the league only gets us to hosting the MIVA Tournament ??
