Cards faced a good defense and only shot 38% couldn't it open 3 pointers. Clephane though really lit them up 26 points. We also forced 23 turnovers on them which I think really made the difference. Clutch free throws. An ugly win but still in first place.

And NIU takes down BG @ BG which puts the Cards firmly in the driver's seat for the #1. Still a lot of work to do with games against that same NIU team, BG, and Toledo but they are in control of their own fate now.

BSU is by far superior to any team in the MAC this season. Ohio looked like a high school team tonight and many of their players look terribly out of shape. They play like bakery employees that make a ton of turnovers. This is the weakest the MAC has ever been in women’s basketball. With the exception of BSU, the MAC is boring to watch. There were not more than 500 fans in Worthen tonight excluding the band, cheerleaders, Code Red Dancers and Charlie. NIU (4-8) took care of Bowling Green on the road tonight giving BSU sole possession of 1st place.

I'm gonna call her Thelma D, but she scored 34 points with 9 three pointers last night. She averages 34 min/game and has taken but 13 FTs in 26 games.

They just keep doubling Davis and giving up wide open 3's and NIU is hitting them at over 50%

BSU came back in the third outscoring NIU 21-8 but needed NIU to cool off a little in the 4th. We slowed Davis a little but needed a bad 3pt shooting day by NIU to get the win. In the first half it was quite the 3pt dual between the teams for a while. Would rather play anybody else in the tourney than NIU.

We had to pick our poison guard Davis one on one or double her and leave 3point shooters open. NIU hit over 50% of 3s. I think NIU can win it all. They are good defensively and put much pressure on you with their offense. We are still a very good team by the third quarter 23-11 score that got us back in the game. Most of the teams that we have played have faded in the 4th with 3 point shooting but not this time with NIU. Our depth and fast pace wears down the other team by the 4th. We were going agaisnt an NCAA rebound leader in Davis and she did not disappoint. Against NIU we had to finish better at the basket on our opportunities. Richards missed two in a row and finally hit two. Annie R. really played well but she and Kiefer were in foul trouble in the 4th. We briefly played a zone which seemed to slow NIU down a little but not much. I saw part of the NIU/BG game and BG could not hit the side of the barn and I think were out rebounded.
