Names I’d like to see who haven’t been mentioned.
Saddi Washington from Michigan (played at WMU, familiar with MAC, maybe too high profile for us) Kyle Green from Iowa State (25 year coaching career) Alan Huss from Creighton (former HS coach at Culver and La Lumiere, not sure if that has a negative spin to it or not)

One season over .500, and 6-25 this year. Ewing is a horrible coach.............. Yeah, I don't get the extension. "He Who Shall Not Be Named" must be involved. He actually is involved in the decline of Georgetown.

Throughout this whole thing the only thing I'm sure of is there are plenty of good coaches out there to choose from.
None of them are perfect. The all have blemishes of some sort.
But at least one, probably several, will be a good head coach at the MAC level or above. The question is: Will one of those good ones take that next step at BSU?

Anyone checking the Delaware County Airport for private plane arrivals and their origin? My guess is any meetings will take place in Indianapolis. I was going to offer Calhoun a case of Natty Light in cooler out on North Walnut Street to watch for tail numbers.

I’m hearing we’re going to announce soon. Lewis is very much involved at this stage. John Brannen is also involved as he has a connect to Mearns at NKU.
Johnson was involved early but no longer a candidate.

Brannen would be a great hire. Not sure the full story at Cincinnati, but the guy wins and had success as a mid major coach. I would be excited to have this guy as our coach.

Johnson was involved early but no longer a candidate. Brannen’s record is encouraging - the Cincinnati issues are worth exploring further before moving forward, though. Hopefully there are no pending NCAA risks in hiring him.

I'm pretty certain the issue of Brannen at UC was not NCAA related; rather it involved players disapproving of his demands, so to speak (i.e. he was too hard on them); some whined and complained to the University, filed complaints, then entered the transfer portal. Well, the University Athletic Dept. had to cover it's butt and needed a "fall guy". They sided with the players to save face and elected Brannen as the scapegoat, the rest is history, so to speak. This is a cursory, poor man's explanation going from memory recall. but probably close enough for government work.

In other words, he wouldn't have put-up with Boogie Coleman's shit and probably not Miryne Thomas' either. Sounds like qualities in a coach we need.

Brannen was hard on players but there were also “cultural issues.” (Code for todays players not liking rules that stifle their culture and individualism, meaning code for a certain segment of the team)
What worked at NKU with MAC level players did not work with “big time” level players. I don’t know if he’d be right at bsu or not. If he can’t relate to players they’ll just leave.
