He is an undersized 5 but he has played this position virtually his entire playing career. He is not a natural 4 in my view.
He kind of reminds me of Antonio Gates who played the 5 at Kent and went on to an All Pro NFL career.
I do agree that going into the Portal is smart but hopefully we bring in the right Coach and as we all hope he stays at BSU. Heck, he has friends and is close to home! It’s not all about basketball.
I truly believe our group of soon to be Sophomores can have a couple of very special seasons under the right leadership.

Not a surprise I'd imagine sellers will do the same. Luke Brown is probably the happiest man on campus. He might become the leader by default

Sparks is good but is undersized to play the #5 in my view in a b5 conference and the #4 is not his natural position. He should stay in place to be All MAC 1st team and win the league. Someone has gotten into his head which is a damn shame! Wait to see who the new Coach is???!!! How did the portal work for KJ, El Amin or Zach Gunn?  ? Sparks isn't those kids. Upside much higher. How can you compare him to Gunn?! Everything we have seen, tells us he can learn the 4. He's got the basketball IQ, is a workhouse and straight up baller. Crazy that he came in at 18. Only going to get bigger, in a good way. This board has been talking about the risk of him transferring. What are the odds someone got into his head, as opposed to him just wanting to explore options he knows he has? Seems smart to me, but fingers crossed he stays! “straight up baller” |

The only thing that surprises me about this is that Brown and Sellers aren't already in there. Probably a credit to Brown that he must not be listening to all the members of the Blackford mafia who keep the belief that he's God's gift to basketball. And I just thought Sellers, being farther from home, might be interested in moving closer but that's not appealing for everyone. And guards aren't as hard to come by as are 6-8 post players.

Spot on comparison actually. Just looked up some stats. Nehls actually shot 40% from 3 for us. Luke only shot 30% this year. |

Players did not think a change would happen this year expected it to happen next but not surprised
