The kid has been told since he was in AAU years ago how amazing he is. And now the Blackford people on that site truly worship him like a god. He had no chance to be "normal" and to understand what it REALLY means to be coached. He's done whatever he wanted for a long time. And then Whit happened (that's ok, it happens) and that didn't help him at all. Lewis was the first coach to really challenge him and challenge his teammates and have big boy talk and he couldn't handle it. Unfortunate because I think he could have been coached to contribute to how Lewis wants to play. Not sure the kid will ever really feel at home anywhere he might go.

I think you guys need to take a deep breath and maybe also a chill pill. The only drama I see is here in these threads and also on some obscure corner of Facebook....and half the drama there was deliberately stoked by members of this board. I don't see that Luke Brown himself has done anything more dramatic than express an interest in transferring...which is hardly unusual these days.
And Herman, what evidence do you have that Brown was put off by being "challenged" or "big boy talk"? Maybe Lewis just explained his projected role going forward and Luke just preferred something different? This often happens in a coaching change with no real blame to assign to either party.

The general has a good point.
Best point is we really don't know exactly what made up the decision. We do not know for sure how differently Lewis would play Luke, but we do know he would insist on very hard individual defense, and it seems very likely he will want more ball movement done with the pass rather than Whitford's go to dribble with ball screen on most sequences.
We also know Lewis is a more high intensity, and profane, coach. That change by itself is significant easy enough to imagine it just isn't what a player thinks he needs.

So what was the problem at Stetson? What will be the problem at the next place?

The kid in the right system might become a catch and shoot scorer but to keep changing schools thinking that’s the answer is at best naive.

I agree 100%. This is a 19 year old kid who has been put in the spotlight because of his prodigious talent at an early age. I've had three kids grow into some stage of adulthood now and they are all imperfect just like Brown. I never saw him act like an ass in the small sample we saw this winter and he's clearly got some talent. I hope he has a wonderful career somewhere and with someone we don't play. :-)

I honestly have nothing against Brown other than he gave up on BSU pretty quickly. But 99.999% of the looney is the "cult." That's not Brown's fault. He's a good player. I was hoping he'd be good for us. That's not to be, so yes, good luck to him wherever he ends up and I hope he finds a place he can stay. Just....not in the MAC....

Since I taught the tik-toc sensation, I had to look at the FB page devoted to Brown. The Lunacy of that page and the sentiment of the community has convinced me that the guy does not have a chance to meet expectations of whatever he does. Hope he makes it, but those expectations are pretty high.

So what was the problem at Stetson? What will be the problem at the next place? Obviously the problem at Stetson was no Tic-Toc Girl, plus a few 6'-5" quick defensive guards. You old guys have apparently forgotten to recognise that the real talent in that video was not Luke Brown. Why Ball State has not hired Tic-Toc girl as Director of Recruiting for either MBB or football, or maybe both, is a mystery. Maybe we all need to watch "He Got Game" again. This is what recruiting is about; usctrojans.com/sports/football/roster/staff/annie-hanson/153
