Fellas, we all know that if they were serious about the phrase, it'd actually be "curse like a Marine"... <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> LOL! Nice. I always enjoyed a good 12 pack of Crayola's in my MRE's.

Let's bring it full circle.
Do we keep this thread going and what will we say if he returns from the portal and achieves the greatness expected by his many fans?

Honestly, what is the rush? Why not play a year under Lewis and see what happens? He could still use his free transfer year at the end of next season and still have 2 years of eligibility somewhere else. If Lewis fails to fill all his roster holes over the next few months, there could be significant minutes for Brown to play at BSU next season. Not counting Brown, Lewis is down to 8 scholarship players. As of yet, there is no evidence that is going to change.

The interesting thing to me is that several players jumped early into the portal after Whitford was fired. Brown was not one of those.
So this isn't some knee-jerk reaction of a player whose coach got fired. He's gotten to know his new coach and been able to process what he feels is the good and the bad, and he's decided he thinks there's something better out there for him, some place he might be happier. Otherwise, you don't take the step that he did.
I think if he gets any interest that meets his minimum criteria for PT opportunity, location to family, coaching style, playing style (whatever is important to him), he's gone.
OTOH, none of those other freshmen who had that knee-jerk reaction to Whitford's firing seem to have been bothered by what they're seen of or heard from Lewis.

I don't know what to think of the comments regarding Lewis' behavior toward managers.
I really don't know who the managers of college level basketball teams are. I've always kind of assumed they were kids who played ball in high school, weren't good enough to play in college but still wanted to be around the game. Perhaps that they were ed majors who wanted to coach and thought being a manager would be a good way to learn some of the tricks of the trade.
So whether they are paid or not, I always thought they were probably getting something out of the job themselves, that it wasn't just them doing some big favor for the school and the program.
So if the managers are willingly involved in some drills or other practice activities and Lewis feels like they aren't doing it right or goofing off ...
Or even if they're just slow to get some water to the players after they've just finished some challenging drills ...
and Lewis chews their ass a little ... well I'm pretty sure that's something they didn't get from Whitford ... but I'm not sure I've got a problem with that.

They had no real response. The guy supposedly in the know agrees and thinks Luke will leave. I added that even if Luke did come back I wonder how Lewis is really going to feel about him. One foot in and one out does not seem like it will fly with lewis.

I did hear another thing of interest. I was told Browns locker is cleaned out as in empty. I'm not sure what that might mean if anything. Everyone else's locker had their stuff in it

As a Navy veteran, always wondered why “curse like a sailor” was used so much? As for Dick Hunsaker, he was my favorite Ball State coach. Loved his defense, always had enough defense to win most games. Not sure whose Navy you were in, but when I came off of a cruise it was always "pass the damn salt", "have you seen my fucking keys, Dad"... It was pretty vulgar by any standard and completely common onboard the Nimitz. This was a long long time ago before women were on combat ships... Think "Lord of the flies" but with more rules. We even went as far as to have these insane wrestling matches in the shop mostly out of boredom between flight ops. We had a stencil in our shop and would on occasion wrestle a member of another shop to the ground and spray paint our stencil onto his chest. It was bananas at times. Just kidding, because I just always found this funny! By the way, I was on an old wwII destroyer. When we worked with carriers we had to work our butts off just to stay up with you guys - those things are fast! They are also cities! My little ship (250’ x 50’) use to cut through the waves, you guys couldn’t even feel them. Enjoyed your comments.

Im pretty confident in saying Brown is gone gone like took his ball and went home gone. I think at this point the only thing preventing is one of the parties having a complete change of heart

Im pretty confident in saying Brown is gone gone like took his ball and went home gone. I think at this point the only thing preventing is one of the parties having a complete change of heart If we can believe what has been posted, the bad thing about this is that in the month of so that Lewis has been coach, Brown decided to sign his scholarship for next year and then decided to transfer, basically tying the coach's hands with recruiting a replacement until Brown sorts out his situation. Do I understand that correctly?
