Here’s a stat to ponder before you go to bed. Ball state 3 wins come from opponents with a combined record of 2-16 and zero wins against fbs schools

Our schedule originally looked to be harder earlier but no it appears to be harder in the 2nd half

No way a lot of people who followed the MAC would have thought NIU and CMU would have the bad records they have right now. Hard to stack rank our teams right now, but I’d probably go with something like this… Toledo Buffalo EMU Miami Kent WMU BSU Ohio BG NIU CMU Akron So by this logic we have 4 conf games left against teams “better” than us as of now (TOL, EMU, KENT, MIA), 1 conf game against an even opponent (OU), and the UConn game. UConn win would be be huge to get momentum heading into the 2 game gauntlet of Toledo and EMU. I think Kent looks very beatable right now. OU has a terrible defense. Miami still doesn’t look impressive as an on-field product but they have our number. Definitely going to a nerve-racking back end of the season. |

Rob, you say we are kinda good and kinda bad at the same time..That is true...That is why coaches say the best thing about freshman and sophomores is that they turn into juniors and seniors...Ya gotta remember, we are kinda young...GO CARDINALS GO...

So pleased with winning up there. But now it gets really hard. 3 more wins will be a huge chore. We aren’t very good but have a chance to better than we thought we’d be. Winning gritty right now. Time for the offense to put it all together and play a full game. We aren’t beating Toledo or emu so we gotta get the iffy games.

We meet Toledo on November 8th, Election Day. It seems that the MAC is creating a tradition of a BSU-Toledo game on Election, which is cool.
Between now, and then, Toledo has a pretty tough gauntlet to run, playing Kent, Buffalo and EMU prior to our matchup. It will prove just how good they are.
BSU has to get through UConn, EMU and Kent during the same period.
I'm confident BSU can get through this next month in good shape.

We're on the same page. I just hope you are right we can get through the month with a good showing which I think is 3 wins. I am not counting UConn or any of these home games as a sure win, though. Winning any 3 of the next 4 is a challenge.
Miami is a game I always want to win and rarely see, and Toledo looks very hard. My fear is that winning another road game is probably going to be needed. |

EMU has had some weird results this year. I wouldn't be shocked if we beat Toledo or Eastern and lose a couple that we are favored in. |
