Paddock's passes the last two games have been sailing like the Cutty Sark. Why is that?

I'll ask this question although I know how some will answer ... If this team somehow manages six victories does anybody really want to see it go to a bow game? I mean last year's team was significantly better than this year's team and it lost by 30 in its bowl. How badly would this team be embarrassed? If, somehow, they win 4 of 5, beat Toledo and make the MAC championship game, I would certainly reconsider. But I don't think beating an FCS team and 5 FBS teams ranked 100 or worse should qualify you for any type of post-season. The question will be whether any bowl committee really wants them. If the offense is really clicking, maybe the prospect of a lot of points on the board would be there. But winning ugly is not a real draw.

AMEN! If there is one thing this group can agree on, this year is no Nate Davis, Keith Wenning, or Drew Plitt type team. My personal aspiration for this team is to be bowl eligible. We have won one bowl game win in our history. I would like to have the opportunity to win another. I think usurping Toledo in the West would be extremely tough this year (but still wishing for the best) to be the MAC West representative in Detroit. In short...enjoy having more wins than losses on October 15th . We lost by 7 in our first game in 2020. We were basically an underdog the whole season, played no non-conference games, were an 10 point underdog at Toledo. Somehow won the conference. If anything, we ARE a Drew Plitt team. We just need to finish the season. Very well put connecticutcard. I meant it more in the sense of not having the same overall talent level of those teams led by those quarterbacks. Also...hope you were extra smiles with the victory in what I am now assuming is your current residence by your username.

To quote Gretzky, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take". Can not achieve a second bowl win unless you are in a bowl game. The team can not choose how the other schools within their own conference play. For the non-conference opponents, I think there would be a much more candid conversation, particularly regarding scheduling FCS teams like you mentioned.

I don’t think 6-6 teams should be awarded anything but since they are I want us in a bowl. Like others said though there are a couple less bowls now so it might take 7 to guarantee it. We were within a Manscaped ball hair of staying home last year. ESPN likes us though we actually get decent for the mac tv numbers and we often help ESPN with productions

You wonder how far we can go playing poorly for a half. Doing that, we may have won our last game. But then we probably have a chance to beat EMU and an outside chance against Ohio that way, but it seems likely we have to sometime actually play well for a whole game to get to 6 wins. On the outside chance we can do that...play a whole game...could we get an upset on the road? Several ways to get to 6 if we did.
How many times could we do it? Let's get wild and crazy and do it enough times, get lucky, then win 3 games...

mills keeps expecting fans to be rational about these meaningless bowls, their cost, and the slim chance we look good in one if we play like we are playing.

We are fans of the team. If your not currently employees by BSU or paying for your kid to go there why would any of us really care about cost of anything. BSU does not care about cost to me when they are asking me to donate

BSU won't continue to get your money or anyone's unless they spend it more wisely. So far we get away with MAC FB in FBS. We have to bite the bullet at some point. You'd think.

I'm sure with your children you say, "My daughter is not a very good dancer. I'm not going to attend her holiday recital unless she improves." Hardly. But I wouldn't spend a lot to send her to a dance contest in some distant city where she's the least talented in the room. Or for that matter to one with other low level kids which required travel expense. Wouldn't expect the grandparents to donate money for it either. Different case if she's really talented and we're flush with money, or the grandparents are. That is if we aren't spending her college savings on the trip. Bowl bids we'd get resemble which case the most?

I thought the question was would us fans like to see our team in a bowl game. Financially it probably doesn’t make sense for us to play road game at Eastern Michigan, but we have a football team so yeah I will watch the games. The numbers of people interested in Ball State sports is very minimal- we all know that is a fact. Go Cards, beat EMU!
