I don’t understand it because it makes no sense, but for some reason I want to watch as much BSU football as possible. So yeah I want us to go bowling. If I’m going to ponder the unsolvable I will focus on why I put myself through this rather than why 6-6 teams play bowl games.

Financially it probably doesn’t make sense for us to play road game at Eastern Michigan, but we have a football team so yeah I will watch the games. That's a good point. Still we don't have to actually play that bowl game. Probably do have to play at EMU since we need a conference affiliation. |

Of course we want that.
That's free advertising and positive exposure for a university and helps it look like a valid Division 1 institution. Not to mention that exposure assists out of state enrollment.
I don't give a damn how mediocre they are or how bad they get beat.
You concerned about costs? Cut some low level female sports that no one gives a damn about. Sorry girl dads.
Ohhh, and add back mens track that helps the football team.

Now, about those WNBA salaries, which is a completely unrelated topic...
I saw a post somewhere about how the mascot for the Denver Nuggets makes almost 3 times the salary of the highest paid WNBA player. Which just tells me the players should have gone into mascotry. (Not sure if that was a word before, but it is now.)

It is not clear to me that a low level bowl says we're a top notch FB program in that context. There are other things we could spend on which might make us a stronger institution than looking like a pale imitation of those with big time FB. |

Of course you want the bowl game. Honestly getting to 6 + wins for the season would be a great thing. Any chance to keep playing and build a program is what you want. They way it is all setup now, I don't think there is much of a selection as there is to get a team to fill the TV slot.
Go Cards! Beat EMU!
We are showing enough grit to win 3 of the next 5. For me, that would be a good season.

I had BSU Football 7-5 for the season. I am sticking by it. You see 3 more wins, that's more optimistic than I can be. I thought maybe 6-6 and that happening depended a lot on beating WMU. We may still make it. Lose this one and I doubt it very much. |

I like reasons we think we will win games? The fan in me of course wants us to win them all but when I look at numbers and matchups I just struggle to find winnable games if we play like we have been playing.
