Could just be a Jedi mind trick by Candle.

This morning I was thinking over how we've performed under Neu in "big" games. Last year I don't recall any games that were high stakes. In 2020 we had the WMU game where the winner went to Detroit, and we came out about as flat as possible and looked terrible in a miraculous win. But then came out focused and strong in the MAC champ game and in the bowl game. Tonight will be a test of Neu's "big game" coaching.

Could just be a Jedi mind trick by Candle. Hopefully, Neu is Toydarian.

We've come out flat and seemingly unprepared in most of our games this season. (and a few last year) I'm not real optimistic that will change. Against UT that could put us down 3 TD before we even break a sweat.

Toledo is the top passing D in the MAC, number two in Offense efficiency, number one in defensive efficiency and Finn has more passing TD's than Paddock and rushed for another 8 TD's. They have the kind of offense we usually get eaten alive by. What am I missing here? No doubt if Finn cannot go it changes things but if he plays and is ready to go I think we will get drilled.

Since 2011, we've been road underdogs of 10+ against non-Power5 teams 20 times. We've won 4 of 16.
Of the 4 we've won, we've never lost the turnover battle. Two of them (10/9/21 WMU; 10/14/18 CMU) we were +4. One (11/28/20 TOL) we were +1. And the 4th (11/28/14 BGSU) there we no turnovers. I don't know how many times we've won the turnover battle and still lost the game. I was merely looking to see what was common amongst the games we won. In 3 of the 4 games we had less penalty yards. But also, somewhat surprisingly (though not when you consider we were significant underdogs) we had less overall total yardage in 3 of the 4 wins. In one of those 3, the CMU game, we were significantly out gained (Cooper Rush) by a net of 139 yards (287 to 426). The key to that game was the 5 turnovers they had compared to our 1, and the net 66 penalty yards. To me, it suggests we just don't turn the ball over, we get some takeaways, we we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with penaltys. Seems simple enough, lol.
10/09/21 BSU @ WMU 45-20 (+12.5) 11/28/20 BSU @ TOL 27-24 (+10) 11/28/14 BSU @ BG 41-24 (+10) 10/18/14 BSU @ CMU 32-29 (+10)

Oh let’s just stop acting we are smart. Let’s just say we have to play our best while they have an off night without Finn plus we need some BSU Toledo magic or we are getting drilled

On a different note, could we use the tarps they removed from the Worthen seats and use them for Tuesday night national football coverage? Think of the advertising revenue we could generate and the positive visual for obscuring empty seats.

If we win just a few more, we could fill those empties with fans. ''If you win they will come''

I agree 00 I have been a backer of tough schedules forever. The tougher your schedule the better your recruits.

If we win just a few more, we could fill those empties with fans. ''If you win they will come'' In the interim, tarps are colorful and festive. We could put Dancin’ Charlie on one whole section and a giant Pizza King tarp to satisfy the culinary longing of all us out of state alums.
