This will be tough. The Rockets have plenty of rest and should come in real fresh against the Cards. Hopefully we heal up quick and have our “A” game ready - we will need everything thing we’ve got to win this one. Can we, yes! Will we, we will see. Our final three games will be tough. Two of three on the road. An underdog in each game. Ohio is probably the best team in the MAC right now. Go Cards!!! Beat Toledo!

Eastern Mich. defense looked good against toledo until it didn't. We have been doing better against the fast running backs. Not great but better. Maybe got the running QB thing also figured out.

We have because we have so far been able to go man on man with our corners with little to no safety help. This taking away a lot of those big over the middle plays that have plagued us for years

Eastern Mich. defense looked good against toledo until it didn't. We have been doing better against the fast running backs. Not great but better. Maybe got the running QB thing also figured out. EMU held on to the ball for long stretches in the first half which kept our offense off the field. We muffed a punt we had no business fielding, and fumbled inside our own 10 after a long bouncing punt as well. Outside of that our D held em to 200 yards and we outgained em by about 130 yards. The backup QB threw 3 TDs and 0 picks. But UT was fairly efficient moving the ball all game. We had a ton of penalties last week too, which was the 1st week all year thats happened after being dead last in 2021. Tolddo made a chipshot and a 45 yarder with the backup fg kicker which may be why we pulled out the victory. It was a slog of a game where Toledo played one good qtr. (the 4th). Most MAC teams beat us last week with the stupid breaks and gifting EMU 14 pts. Ball State needs to score 1st and then ball control us to death to have a shot. The self inflicted wounds will happen if Candle is Candle of the past (75% of oyr fan base belives so). |

Toledo’s team speed will be a major issue for us. We’re going to have to stay assignment sharp and anticipate well. Their pass d is elite and our passing game… is not, so we have GOT to establish the run and keep pounding it. Having to be in passing situations all game long will not go well for us. And if we can run effectively we can keep the ball out of Finn’s hands. We can’t deal with that dude. He killed us last year on runs.
I don’t see us being able to beat Toledo, but I do hope and expect we compete hard and make them earn beating us.
