I can believe they're improved, but it looks like we are under rated. We'll see, I guess. Good locker room material to go in as underdogs that much. under rated based on what our play against earlham I doubt the prediction gives that game any or not much weight. Preseason ratings typically are based on personnel, with a fair assumption, all things being equal, that the sum of player skills add up to predict team performance. On that basis SI had complete ratings all teams. Rarely though does that metric capture change in team defense. Lousy stats on individual defense. Why should we think there is a change there? Coaching change mostly, and we can perhaps look at Earlham as evidence. Basically I believe that the whole will be a bit more than the sum of the parts in our case. We'll see. |

ISU has established a bit of a lead in the series history, so we need to start to chip away at that.
According to the preview on the website we hold a 74-62 series lead, so I was way off here. I cant remember where I was looking but I thought I’d just seen that ISU led the series. |

I got 10 and bet big for me!! I think the initial line was just based on ISU having a big win against Green Bay, and BSU having basically nothing in the way of results and a very unimpressive season last year. Kenpom still has BSU with the 279th defense. This is primarily based on last year and I think we all are hoping (quite reasonably) for a big improvement there. I think the betting market was overreacting to ISU's GB win for lack of other data on the two teams. GB was terrible last year and probably is again. I see that the line has fallen to 8 today, as some smarter money comes in. |

We will miss Sellers this game. We could use another athletic guard with a little size on the defense. Unless Windham can turn in a good defensive game or one of the newcomers can do the job, Bumbalough will have to play very hard to defend their guards. It may be a test of our ability to help on his man. I suppose it's possible we see Coleman more as a guard if we can effectively play Jihad and Pearson more minutes in a traditional 2 guard lineup if Bumb can't get it done.
Sellers available would give us the depth and size we could need at guard.
Cleary had a good offensive showing, and he's athletic enough to defend. I'll be curious if that can be counted on. He and Windham and Coleman could give us some good players on the wing.
