Iāll take this win and be happy. I still think this is an improved team over last year. Still things Lewis needs to work on with this team but Iām seeing progress. Same players with Whit coaching and I think we lose this game.

sloppy but a road win against a bad team. Iāve seen us perform worse. Not being 100 % reliant on the three helps this year

Shooting much better in 2nd half but the turnovers picked up & our defense the last 8 minutes dropped off. Need to play a complete game maybe Saturday. Pearson played a very good game & Jehad looked much better.

Lewis only uses 8 players and I struggle to understand how he views Bumbās role when he is on the floor.
Heās not shooting and heās not dishing out assists. I assume ānot making turnoversā can be seen as contributing

That's a fact...they came out the tougher team, played hard, tried to control clock, just couldn't shoot.

I assume ānot making turnoversā can be seen as contributing That was important early when he came in. Pearson, Bumb and Jihad looked ready to play. Got us into gear. |

I assume ānot making turnoversā can be seen as contributing He's not a consistently good perimeter shooter, but I think good enough that opponents need to guard him out there, so he has some spread-the-floor value. |

MAC games are usually ugly too, so tonight's game is valuable in that regard. Sure wish Sparks can get out of his FT slump soon. See continued improvement and a little more grit each game by the Cardinals. Oh, for more bigs!
The production value of tonight's game was high school level at best. Having a close friend who recently passed who looks a lot like Coach Simmons, I hope he can shed some of that weight. He looked bigger than last year at Worthen.

Noticed on Sparksā lone FT attempt last night he snapped back his left wrist & arm upon the release. Last season as a 70% FT shooter, he nearly always hung his follow through. This is something that needs to be pointed out to him & worked on in practice. His FT shooting is clearly in his dome. Needs a lot of repetition in practice. Hope he can overcome the demons as he will continue to shoot a ton of FTās this year if he stays aggressive. |
