Well BG only 84 miles from Detroit did have the best crowd that I have seen so far . NMS also had a nice representation being 1600 mile away.Good for Buffalo and the MAC.

Ohio pulls out the win over Wyoming in OT to give the MAC another win and goes 4-2 this bowl season. Not too bad for a conference that is considered a cellar dweller conference. They could have gone 5-1 had BG not choked.

MAC is a bottom conference.
But the better MAC teams are capable of winning bottom bowl games. We didn't exactly have blowout wins. With 30 games and a number of better teams not bow eligible no surprise.
And occasionally a team is able to win a middling bowl game!

4-2 in bowl games. All you so called experts claiming the MAC was weak this year are full of shit…unfortunately I listened to you and you screwed up my confidence pool. Probably the same regulars that bitch about Neu every post.

With 30 games and a number of better teams not bow eligible no surprise. And occasionally a team is able to win a middling bowl game! I totally disagree - this 4-2 bowl record is an enormous surprise. The 12 MAC teams combined for only 8 FBS wins in 36 tries during the entire non-conference schedule, with 5 of those 8 wins being in home games. Only 4 of the 8 FBS wins were against teams in Sagarin's top 130 rated teams. For the MAC to win 4 postseason games in 6 tries, all on neutral to unfriendly venues, and all against teams in the top 110, could never have been anticipated. It might not seem like a big deal to many folks, but nothing the MAC football teams did back in September vs non-conference foes could have predicted winning 4 games. Even the 2 losses were tight margin defeats. Understandably, MAC teams are not in the higher-level bowls, but the MAC is actually now 9-7 over the last 3 bowl seasons, & 4-1 vs the Mountain West Conference after some very lean years 2013-19.

The MAC is a bottom level conference in FBS. 4 wins was unexpected, yes. Statistically proving anything about conference strength? No.
C'mon. "top 110" opposition? There are only 130 FBS teams. A few MAC teams only outside the bottom 30. We were generaly supposed to be close in most of the games, won more than our share, 3 of 4 by very small margins

Things are different now a days..bowl game rosters are different then season rosters..notre dame had 4-5 players not playing in their bowl game..makes me wonder how many kids did not play in the bowl games, against the Mac teams?

Be happy...The MAC is trying to stay in D-1 but we are fighting an uphill battle. I would say 4-2 against ANY bowl teams is pretty damn good.

Probably the same regulars that bitch about Neu every post. The MAC was indeed incredibly weak this year and is on the downslide. As Calhoun said, bowl games are a joke nowadays, as many players opt out, other players enter the portal, coaches are gone or half-gone, etc. One 6-6 team shows up motivated for a bowl game, while the other 6-6 team doesn't. It's hard to predict. The MAC still very much sucks, and so does Neu.

Wyoming was without at least 7 players due to injury and transfer. Ohio did not have their starting QB. Purdue has been decimated by transfers. For the most part the MAC games were close entertaining games. That finish by Ohio was something else. EMU comeback,Toledo. If you watched the MAC games you got your $s worth and so did ESPN.

We need a press conference for this Board with Neu to clear the air from running QBs to having a 1990s offense and everything else that we all bitch about concerning football. I again recommend that you all listen to the pre game announcers at the 1993 Las Vegas Bowl discuss BSU Football. It is on YouTube.

They could have gone 5-1 had BG not choked. The losses were both very close and could've been won. 5-1 or 6-0 was extremely realistic. The bowl committees matched up some decent games.

My translation of those commentators is, boring offense that likely won't keep up, especially if they can't establish the run early. Utah State had 205 rushing yards against us, while we had 75, 10 of which came on an opening play reverse. That game was so BSU-ish. We entered 8-2-1 and heavy favorites over the 6-5 Aggies (who had won 5 straight entering the game), yet they steamrolled us.
