I’ve been replaying, in my mind, the last few minutes. Honestly, the Cards had a chance to tie or take the lead on several occasions. You saw the frustration in Coleman’s face in the huddle in their last time out. The were unable, through unforced turn overs and very poor shot selection, to do the small things they had done in the past to win the close games. Even the coach seemed to not call timely time outs - towards the end of the first half and the closing minutes. First time that I have felt he was out coached. However, all in all, not a terrible game. Hard fought. Ohio out toughed us when it counted. Now the question is, how will the Cards respond? I will also be making the three hour drive there Saturday and look forward to a strong effort and win by the Cardinals!

Honestly, I think losing last night, and the way we lost 'could' be very instructive for the rest of the season. Of course that all depends on how the team and staff respond to it and tackle the lessons learned. We can get better from this humbling we took last night, but it's all about how we respond. Do we get tougher and smarter. Do we pull together even more. Or do we now fracture and fall apart like Whit's teams always seemed to after good starts. Lewis has a very different voice and I'm pretty sure our guys are gonna hear some things. Tough love coming. We had too many panic plays last night, too much hero ball when just making a better pass, working for a better shot, being patient may have helped us pull it out. You often learn a lot more from a loss so we'll see where this goes.
Hope Jacobs isn't out long. If he is, Sellers really really needs to step up his game, especially mentally.

Like this segment: "Winning is simply a byproduct of doing all the things that it takes to compete at a high level well, like the preparation, the willingness to practice, the film study, the personnel study, Lewis said. "Jaylin Hunter is left handed. He was left handed yesterday, he was left handed last month, he was left handed when I first met him as an eighth grader ... and we just consistently allowed him to go to his left hand. The attention to detail that it takes to compete day in and day out is difficult ... and it takes that type of dedication to doing all the things that it takes to add up to winning, and we fell short of that tonight."

Really good article by Gus Martin today in the SP. Love Lewis' comments. Finally, two good stories. Oh yea, on a game we lost! However, Lewis said the right things and I respect his analysis of himself and the players. noe, beat Miami!!!
