Is it the entire staff that's not good enough (lotta Western Illinois guys) or just certain roles/position group coaches who aren't up to par. (oh, I don't know, maybe the offensive coordinator?) Or, is it really just Neu? Does he rely too much on buddies and easy hires. Is the salary pool not enough to attract better assistants? Is he an ineffective game manager to the point HE'S the one losing us ball games in the 4th quarter every year?

We will see but going on last year I don't think this coaching staff has the ability to harness the good and potential talent we have to produce a winner this year. This year represents a situation where they have to make personnel change. The concern you raise I assume is that our system and play calling philosophy won't use all the talent we have.
At least some of our issue last year was the idea we could somehow take advantage of an encore performance by players and we surely don't have that mirage to cloud the issue.
This is also more a year where the staff is on the hot seat. Motivation to make change, more scrutiny searching for flaws.

If it is misplaced trust in poor assistant coaches, he can change that, needs to examine staff performance. That's management 101. If it is lack of funding for a staff that is structural.
Without resources long term, changing our the deck chairs on the ship could get lucky, and help, sure. But longer term you do generally get what you pay for. Neu is not now living in the long term. He has to either stick to the plan and prove he's right, maybe fail, or change and maybe it's too late for that.
Now, if it is misplaced trust in system or philosophy he could also change that up a bit quicker. Your point about conservative game management into the 4th Q could be in that category. Can soul searching overcome the built in personality structure of the program?

In the end, it’s the head coach that is responsible for the end results of the team. The buck stops on Neu’s desk. Look at our results since Neu’s arrival. In conference and out, the results are not good. If the University is alright with it, as fans we need to adjust our expectations or move on.

Results count. Coaching and staff always a factor in results. IF coaching change based on approach or on clear malfeasance, it is a consideration.
Especially if the new coach brings a good staff. Question is always what is the cost.

We have had some fun at Hatchers Expense but I gotta be honest. The past month or so Ive Noticed that Hatcher has been at Church. He comes buy himself nearly every week. Today was joined by his girlfriend. This does not change what his dad may or may not have done or how well he can play football. It does show a bit of his character and probably tells us a bit about his leadership Congrats on your new QB1. Thats still up in the air but Id guess your probably right. Im not suggesting anything more than I said. I dont know his dad and I dont know how good/bad/ or mediocre he is going to play. All im saying is its not everyday you see a kid doing this. I think its worthy of a compliment

I've known a lot of church-goers (some pastors) that were total pieces of shit.

However, in my lifetime those individuals have the been the exception. I agree with rmcalhoun that it is commendable the young man is getting himself up on Sunday mornings & going to church! Golf clap!! Now, let's see if he can get it done on the football field!

Well if things go South for him on the field at least he knows how to pray to get things going North again.

Like I said I have no Idea but alot of that already sounds like what our coaches did without getting paid for it last year with Paddock lol. You guys are really making more out of a simple thing I noticed. I just thought it was interesting and worthy of mentioning.. You guys know I want Kelly and you should also know if fishy things start happening Im going to call it out. Until it happens though its just talking points

The reality of it is right now no one cares anything about this. Someone on the staff has read tgis thread. Multiple members of athletic dept,Donor groups and foundations have read it. We dont have a rabid fan base and to be quite frank bigger issues than this get swept under the rug every year. The only way that changes is if a parent of an affected kid starts running with it. Enough parents have read this that if it does indeed happen it will spread around parents circle. Its just wait and see topic

Well it is fast approaching a dead time for BSU sports and we are going to be even more creative in coming up with more "talking points".
