Wasn't there someone on here back in the spring that was saying Mike was somewhat racist in his decision making regarding playing time? Or did I just make that up and need to go sit in a corner and think about what I've done?
If it's the former, I wonder if this decision radiates that thought process deeper through the team.
If it's the latter, I shall wear my hat of shame, in the corner, without my electronic devices, and not be invited to play capture the flag with the rest of the kids.

Do we know what kind of cash we're getting from Daddy? Or if we're getting any cash at all? Because, you know, if there are funds coming, once they're in the bank, we could re-evaluate the position. Maybe then we could afford to hire a new OC. [br Heard his family bought one of the suites That sounds ... insignificant. I mean I don't really know what a suite costs, but I'm thinking you could make that much money by putting a few thousand more butts in the seats to watch a winning team. |

I think someone said they hope the race card would not be played by anyone. I hope everyone realizes your fucking with Pandoras box when you start throwing that around. As much as I want Kelly to be the guy, I can’t say for certain he should be the starter over Hatcher. He is electric running the ball, but I have never seen him throw a pass. Whether he is the starting qb or not, he needs to get plenty of touches because he is likely the best playmaker we have.

He threw some nice balls in the spring game Other than that he has never been given the chance. Doesnt matter though for now it appears to be over. Gatcher is the guy and we need him to be good

If my job is on the line, I’m more likely to go with the guy who has thrown for 10,000 yards in his college career than the guy who has thrown for 23 yards. It’s really that simple. Other factors whether it’s the issue you’re resurrecting or the more recent one that his Daddy is buying him the starting position aren’t what’s happening with this decision, IMHO. |

I don't at all mind Hatcher being QB1. He's got numbers. I just don't want us to NOT utilize our best weapons in some manner. Like, we know Cooper is gonna get Carson Steel number of carries. But we really really need to be more diverse than off tackle on first and second down and a short of the sticks throw to a TE or to the boundary and then shank a punt.

Job on the line, I don't see the "loyalty" issue as meaning very much either. Hatcher has no history with the players and coaches. If there is a good case for making a change and winning a HC with job on the line will be under great pressure to change. There is also great pressure to keep the locker room.
I'm curious how much we see Kelly early, there is a pretty good case to give your new starter as much game time as possible to get ready for the winnable games to come all too soon.
This is not quite the same as last year's situation. He had a big group of key players who were returning with that QB, and after all that QB had managed to lead and to win. The argument for change to a relatively unproven QB was just not as great. If the announcement of a starter is in any way a surprise to the players, I don't like that but I'll take Neu at his word that Kelly gets significant play.
If after those first games we aren't seeing winning play at QB, I would expect to see Neu make changes and at the least Kelly will get his chance with an expanded role.
