Well this is no good Hatcher cant throw and Kelly not allowed too Offense had a great first day of camp against the defense. Defense got coached up and came back ready on Day 2. That’s what camp is for…at least that’s the story I’m holding on to for now. Our D does not worry me anymore it will be good enough or on par with everyone else in the MAC except Miami

Ball state sports did a right up of the most recent scrimmage and it sounds like the qbs did ok. Hatcher had decent numbers and Kelly made big plays. They made it sound like Semonza was the best qb of the day. I assume he played against the 3rd string though.

They are keeping Kelly in a bottle not getting a fair look when it comes to throwing the ball, Hatcher is safe an upgrade of paddock (maybe)

Kelly threw a couple of td passes and had a long run. I'm not sure if Kelly being the full time starting qb is the right move because I have never seen him throw the ball, but I'm sure it would be the most exciting to watch.
It's nice to hear the freshman is doing well. I wouldn't be surprised if he is the starter next year.

An explosive qb can turn broken plays into td’s. Last year is inexplicable because it’s not like we had a passing threat. Say Kelly was a worse passer than Paddock, it’s not like Paddock was tearing it up. At least Kelly would have added a dimension.

I just wanna see for myself what kelly can do throwing the ball giviennthe same 20 opps the others got. We say and are told hes not accurrate but at the end of the spring game and the first scrimmage he had thrown for multiple touchdowns and ran for multiple touchdowns. You watch Toledo Finn is not a great passer but They are favored to win the MAC why cause Finn can pass enough and the threat of him taking off is always there and he can make a big play in the time it takes you to blink. I just dont think Mike or Kev really know or want a true dual threat. They are familiar with and know a more traditional type qb.
Hatcher took off to the sideline once
Semonza had 3-4 runs so he has a bit of mobility.
Kellys 70 yard Td run was electric
Semonza without a doubt looked good comfortable etc. He was rolling then it happened he did tge freshman thing and forced a throw. You could see it coming

I remember during last year's game thinking Finn was nothing special. Missed a bunch of passes. Kept us in the game for the most part, well, Finn's inaccuracy and Steele's legs. But then he still ends up with more than 300 yards passing (a handful of completions for more than 20 yards; Paddock threw for 94 yards that day) and throws the winning TD (one of 3 on the day) late in the 4th. I'm sure our coaches would love 300+ yards and a 3:1 TD/interception ratio. They just don't want to live with all those incompletions (and potential interceptions).

Yea you watch him and your never impressed till he makes a play no one else can make. Then the game ends and he had put up pretty good numbers. Its the ability to keep plays alive and hit a couple as the D breaks down.

At this point I have zero faith in Neu to do anything but the "safe" route

Stan the Man was with Hoke the last 3 Nate years. Wish we had an OC/QB coach like Stan now.
