Looking at the numbers, two impressions, first, Kevin looks like a real winner compared to Joey. Second, the record of BSU FB is sure short of tradition and glory unless you go back to the 60's and early 70's. Before we moved up from really small time FB to the relative power of the MAC conference. I had a great first impression seeing my first BSU FB back when McClain was HC and the MAC was the cradle of coaches and it was big deal we were now in the MAC. More recently... I try to block out the Lembo "transition years" 2015-17, and that awful stretch in 98-99 that weighs heavy in our history. Although on the "bright side" Dave Letterman gave us some national notice, or notoriety with that.

Would it matter if I pointed out that in todays Football Bill lynch Senior would have went to 5 bowls Always liked Bill. You can argue all day about his records, but a class guy. He gave me my biggest college FB thrill by getting me a field pass at the South Carolina game. Never having played college sports (other than soccer), coming out of the tunnel with the team in front of 70 some thousand people was a treat I will never forget.

Obviously not the same as being on field level, but if you ever have the opportunity to visit another game at South Carolina, you should take it. A number of SEC fanbases got their feelings hurt when Mike Leach said the closed end portion of the stadium was the loudest he’s been in the SEC. He wasn’t wrong. When it’s an overflow crowd and sandstorm kicks in, the place gets taken to another level and the stands start swaying.

Would it matter if I pointed out that in todays Football Bill lynch Senior would have went to 5 bowls My first impression when looking at that list was, well, if we take out those two horrific years Bill had, it's not terrible. But then I figure if you took out the two championship years, it kind of levels things out. In the end I think that list and the overall record listed are a pretty accurate representation of the Lynch family coaching tree. And going to a bowl game in this day and age is nothing special, so that really wouldn't change my mind much about Bill's contributions to that list. However, I might be swayed by the argument that the athletic department leadership during Bill's tenure didn't do him any favors.

What made it cool was the place was packed, everyone was on their feet cheering. It so happened they were coming out the same time we were! You are correct. It was electric.
