I agree and have said all along you dont want semonza out there against Ky and GA. Now if it was truely a dead heat between a freshman and a grad transfer then you have to think semonzas ceiling is so much higher? Now the million dollar you have 4 games to use him till you burn the redshirt. If hes that good you cant fuck this up and lose a year playing him a handful of plays here and there. If your going to do it you have to committ to it. If you do you take the good with the bad of a true freshman .

I was told tonight the staff feels as if kelly is the most athletic and explosive player in the MAC. Was told he is more versatile than J hall plus his arm adds even another deminsion to that....
Now if thats true and we have had weapon x riding pine what tge hell are we doing

Not mentioned here yet Magwood is listed as a starting Wr. This is potentially huge. He has been injured forever and has not played real snaps in three years. This kid was as dynamic of a player we have ever signed coming out of highschool. It went down to the last week of recruiting between Ohio State and us they offered as a pref walked on and publicly said if he were an inch taller they would have offered

They're lying ... but I'm not sure whether they're lying to you, to themselves, or to the public in general. If they have some intention of letting him use that arm in any meaningful way, it would appear to be the best kept secret so far. |

If he is really good he probably won't be here for 4 years. |

If he's that good, you for sure don't redshirt him because, if he's that good, he's not going to be here for 4 years anyway. But Neu plays the grad transfer because if all else is even between the grad transfer and the freshman, he is loyal to the older player who's put in more time. |

You’ve had that kid in your program 2+ years and if you actually believed that then you would have found a way to play him. And who would admit that about a kid they barely play, won’t let throw the ball in practice or are turning into a gadget guy? Roster management from this staff leaves a lot to be desired as does their communication to players. |

I am OK with starting with Hatcher in game one, but if Semonza is as good as Hatcher now as a freshman but has higher potential I’d much rather we just go with him. Sure he’ll struggle against SEC teams, but it would be a good learning experience and a show of confidence that we believe he is our QB short and long term. If we are scared the QB is going to get injured, let’s just not play the games.
I don’t believe that the staff truly believes Kelly is more dynamic than J Hall. You don’t let a player that talented waste away on the sidelines. I did see glimpses of what he can do running the ball last year, so I sure hope that if he’s not QB, which it appears he isn’t, he is on the field a lot as a RB/slot WR.
