I was told tonight the staff feels as if kelly is the most athletic and explosive player in the MAC. Was told he is more versatile than J hall plus his arm adds even another deminsion to that.... Now if thats true and we have had weapon x riding pine what tge hell are we doing Get him on the field. Use as WR. He could run sweeps. Pass off sweeps. Use his speed to destroy the opposition. |

I agree and have said all along you dont want semonza out there against Ky and GA. Now if it was truely a dead heat between a freshman and a grad transfer then you have to think semonzas ceiling is so much higher? Now the million dollar you have 4 games to use him till you burn the redshirt. If hes that good you cant fuck this up and lose a year playing him a handful of plays here and there. If your going to do it you have to committ to it. If you do you take the good with the bad of a true freshman . Coaches are saying that burning redshirts is no longer an issue given players will just transfer out anyway. |

That's what it looks like he could do.
If he wants to be Jalen Hurt his passing probably isn't there, and he has to at least be better than Hatcher or Semonza which it is apparently not. Hurt was #! at friggin Alabama for a while, transferred after he ended up playing behind two Heisman candidates.
I don't know how the coaches have dealt with him, but he seems to have two choices. He can continue to work with the QBs and see if that can develop. Or. Maybe better for us, he needs to be on the field, especially if he is as explosive as Hall, that's a huge impact.
That's true this season, and I suppose he can still do both, plan to transfer. I have no doubt there is somewhere he can play QB for a year and have some chance to prove himself, but he's not going to a top level school. Best case, losing the QB battle here makes me doubt he's going to play pro at that position. Winning the QB battle here would still make it a long shot. In the meantime he's got a chance to be a headliner in the MAC in another role, maybe a better chance to play at the highest level in that role.

With our new 3-qb system UK wont know what hit them. We can name our score and will probably take our foot off the gas in the early 3rd quarter. Third string finishes the game.

Yes game week and not many, including myself, are all that hyped up what three seasons from a conference-winning season. Partly bc we all know for the next two games it will be a merciless beatdown. But also bc most of us I believe are over Nue and company and know/expect a brain numbing play calling season leading to a dismal performance and losing season that goes no where. The icing on the cake will be the good players exodus afterwards. Sorry but I just can’t get excited for this NIL driven football season. There I said it.

I could handle the NIL exodus, if it came after a decent season with a semi-exciting offensive display. Then I might feel that we'd have new players in the wings ready to jump into an interesting offense. Now I just anticipate dragging our way through that "brain numbing play calling season" and afterward losing not only anyone who manages to play well to NIL, but other decent players who aren't interested in their future in a 3-and-out offense. |
