I would like to see Charlie Spegal in the there in short yardage situations. The kid is strong as an ox. Used to have comparable weight lifting numbers to Steele. To be honest I had forgotten about Spegal. He did get one carry. He’s a freaking bull and definitely should be in goal line packages. Neu's goal line offense is brutal

Interesting early comment from SEC announcers on attitude of power conferences toward transfers.
They were referencing the talent “holes” in KY’s team the last couple of years and how it is now easier to plug those holes quickly with the transfer portal

Now before we annoit Semonza we gotta realize/ Remember Ky dwitched to a soft zone alot during second half and did not dial up as much pressure. So next time we see Semonza we might see something different. No matter how you cut it though he was throwing balls in the right place, going through progressions har good awareness and showed enough of an ability to run a little

I would not start semonza vs Georgia. It’s gonna be a huge shitshow and having a vet in Hatcher out there first is the right way to go.

But if Neu was certain Hatcher gave us the best chance to win, he probably would have trotted him out for the second half. He didn't, which tells me he probably wants to play Semonza. Neu certainly never did that last year with Paddock and Kelly despite some terrible performances. I'd speculate Hatcher probably wouldn't have played "better" than Semonza if he had played in the second half with the "softer" D. If they're that close (and it seems like they are), I'd rather see the kid who's at that level 4 months out of high school rather than the kid who's at that level after 4-5 years of college ball. I would say the younger player might have a higher ceiling, but he'll need to play to get there.

Neu has a really good problem at QB, from first looks. All three are better than Paddock, which is a great place to start. The quandary is you have Hatcher who is one of the most experienced guys in D1 and looked pretty poised on the TD drive. He didn’t come here in his last season of eligibility to sit and his family has tremendous financial influence. That should not be a factor but it is and he is good plus a good teammate and leader according to reports. On the flip side is Semonza who you will be lucky to keep for two years if he is as good as his initial debut and all the hype. You MUST play him now. Kelly is going to play multiple series plus some gimmicks regardless of who else plays.
Maybe this will shake out by the time we get done with the noncon part of the schedule but it’s a tough call on what’s the best direction right now.

I feel for Hatcher if he winds up sitting in his last year. My guess is Semonza disappears or we run a weird hybrid system trying to make everyone happy.

Our head coach, with professional QB coaching experience, will ace this little dilemma with NO problem

It's actually kind of interesting that we are having this conversation about a QB that started his career at Alabama.

We only had 88 yards in first half against Kentucky. Picked up a lot in second half with the Cal Kid! By the end of the last series by Kentucky, we had matched their yardage! The Cal Kid really looks surveyed the whole field. Smart, relaxed player. Maybe play him at Georgia as we did at Kentucky, but save him for the last ten games.

There weren't quite as many blue jerseys deep into our offensive backfield when he was in.

Every successful QB has a line that keeps the defense out of the backfield...Even Tom Brady
