Here’s another trend that we saw against Georgia Southern that continued vs. the Rockettes. Of their six TD’s today, they had drives that went for 75, 92, 43, 59, 75 and 85 yards. But, these weren’t grind it out time eaters. Time of possession for those drives was 3:31, 3:57, 2:29, 1:27, 1:38 and 3:22. I didn’t watch the game so either they ran up tempo on multiple drives or we were lost and gave up huge chunk plays just like last week. If I’m an opposing OC, I’d be licking my chops after watching the last two weeks film. Small point of correction— we played Wmu today. Just wait till we play Ut. …. Was it over when Toledo bombed Pearl Harbor? |

Our OC makes $131k. That’s probably NIL money for a mid level Big10 running back.
We aren’t going to trade out mid season or end of season for that kind of money and make 2 cents of offensive difference.
Paying off a coach and then paying a little more for another coach will amount to $1.5M plus the higher cost of assistants a new coach will want.
All that money for an upside of probably 7 wins/season and a money-losing bowl game.
I think the appropriate midwestern term is “cut bait”

All P4 schools. An albatross around the neck of a MAC school. Maybe we do better than 7 wins, but not much, and not soon for a coach and staff paid at our level. That money coming out of the hide of our other programs. And yet we are stuck with that being our choice. |

NIU blog is speaking of getting rid of Hammock but feel they can not afford to for same reason as with Neu the contract has multiple years left.

Since he was hired I have wanted him to be successful. After watching two after game press conferences he was really shaken and emotional after the GS game and also even though he talked about the team togetherness and working hard to gain more confidence he once again became emotional in the Western post game. This is not projecting confidence but projecting defeatism. Martin had it right "undisciplined" majority of those penalties were preventable. Did anyone rip into the player who did a personal foul giving Western new life to then score a touchdown? The message was that the players were trying too hard resulting in penalties. Being undisciplined and getting soundly beaten does have an effect on confidence. The team can clean up being undisciplined but playing better well oiled teams will still result in getting beat. At least we won't use the excuse "we beat ourselves".

Search "Ball State All Access" and it comes up with all the pre- and post- game football press conferences. It's way more hit or miss with bball. |

His post game pressers the last two games have been a sight to see. He’s not confident, brings no substances/game plan on how they are going to fix this shit show, and is extra emotional. He knows his days are #’d IMO..

I just watched the post game. Talk about a whole bunch of word salad and nothing. It’s all kumbaya and I love everyone in the locker room, blah blah blah. How about preaching some accountability on the part of the staff and how we got out schemed? He said we were fragile and when adversity strikes that we start pressing. And the players read stuff on social media and that must hurt their feelings or some such nonsense. I literally had to force myself to listen to all 11 minutes of Neu speaking without smashing my tablet. He even mentioned Coll again and how much they miss him. I get that but we’ve played four games since then and the show must go on. It’s freaking loser speak and instead of everyone holding hands they need to start planting some boots in people’s backsides. Maybe his public persona is Mr. Rogers and he’s a rabid lunatic in the locker room but I don’t think that is the case. If we’ve learned anything from the Whitford to Lewis switch it’s that fans want to see their coach is as passionate as they are about improving and winning. Fire the hell up Mike.

Today’s emu game presser wasn’t much better. Lots of vague generalities about gotta stick together, clean some things up, we’re gonna be alright, no big changes needed, blah blah blah. Either he’s an excellent liar or he truly sees nothing wrong with our approach, scheme, personnel, coaching, recruiting, practices, play calling, etc etc. it’s all love and not nothing a little better execution and smarter play can’t cure.
