Mike and company completely butchered that last drive. No urgency. Poor play calls. Bad decisions by Kelly. And do they know we have a 6’’7 TE we can throw it up to? Especially along the sideline when you need 10 more yards? Instead we throw it towards Pemberton twice? Not sure why we weren't throwing to Koziol throughout the whole game. Not even sure if he had a target actually. Pemberton beat the DB twice on that play and Kelly threw the ball over his head both times. Doesn't have the accuracy to make those throws.

Well that was BSUish.. Ive seen that ending how manybtimes now This game will not enhance Kelly's ambitions to play D1 QB. You can blame receivers some, point to good plays, but it sure looked like he missed when the chips were down.

I just thought that after 8 years, we'd get better. Not worse. Other schools have to deal with the portal. We don't seem to be doing so well. Where's the buck to stop?

Isn't there some kind of an option play where your “fast, mobile QB” runs along the line of scrimmage and decides at the last second to either keep the ball or lateral off to an all conference running back?
I saw that on tv once.
Not sure Lynch is familiar with it.

The play calling with 3 minutes left was the real doozy. 3 straight-run plays with 3 minutes left got us a 3 and out.

I saw that on tv once. Not sure Lynch is familiar with it. He has no recollection of that type of play. He cannot recall. He is not familiar with it. We have a playmaker at Qb yet we design very few plays that maximize that ability. Kelly ain’t never gonna be a pocket passer….

Kelly had some wonderful throws tonight in key situations. This is on the coaches.

Kelly had some wonderful throws tonight in key situations. This is on the coaches. C'mon. I watched the whole game and I didn't see anything wonderful other than Kelly's second TD run. He's a tremendous athlete and runner but he's not even an average passer. He panics in the pocket, stares down receivers, rarely gets past the first read and misses badly on 1/3 of his attempts. We never got it to Koziol because our QB isn't a QB. He's an athlete.

He also made a pass that I dont think our other qb’s would have made where he was wrapped up and still got it out. And I think he converted on 3rd and long late in the game. With Kelly we have been competitive. Without him we were getting blown out. He is clearly the best option.

Magwood acted as a defensive back on that pass. Totally knocked a TD away from himself.

Kelly is the starter, so we got what we wanted.

I don't disagree that he makes us far more dangerous but he must improve dramatically next year in the passing game to be a legit QB. He's thrown for 165 yards total in three starts with no TD's and a pick. That is never going to equate to a winning program unless we convert to the wishbone. I love the kid and his energy and athleticism. He's a dynamic runner and athlete with his legs but it's hard to believe he hasn't developed more as a passer after being in the program for three years. Maybe that's on the staff.
