I think end of season mental fatigue is lurking around. Becki also sounded on the presser like she had a cold or was getting one. Probably my imagination. Toledo is picked to win by four or five. Hope we can shoot better from 3 than 22%.

Pretty pathetic. I still think we’ve done way too much celebrating after wins this year, almost over the top, and that karma catches up to you. Save that stuff for after winning a MAC tournament.
If Becki can’t get her mojo back this season will end pretty abruptly in Cleveland. Time to dig deep.

Finishing at the rim was bad and missing free throws same Toledo played great defense but missing open 3 point shots really hurt in keeping Toledo from expanding their lead. Having 5500 fans there also was a factor. Maybe pressing for 40 minutes the whole season has finally taking its toll on the team. Reminded me of the recent IU/Iowa game.

Toledo is really talented and to even beat them on a neutral floor will be hard. However we did beat them at Worthen by neutralizing the big post players and defending their two best guards enough to slow them down. Toledo defense made us hurry our shots and then missing layups really hurt. I think we will play much better in the tourney but going to the WNIT would be ok . Just really enjoy watching them play sink or swim.

I’d rather not have to settle for the wnit again, especially after being so strong for most of the season. That’d be a huge disappointment.

Just beat Eastern Michigan on senior day Annie Rouch hit a free throw to total 1000 for her career. Score was 75-47. Hampton had 6 steals and 18 points. We could not hit 3 pointers so we outscored them 40 to 0 in the paint. All three seniors were able to score in this game. I think Central and BG were the last teams to be both picked to play in the NCAA tourney. Hopefully Toledo and Ball State will be picked but am notholding my breath about it. The AP poll which the selection committee consults has not mentioned Ball State all year but the coaches poll has. Ball State, Toledo, BG and Kent are all part of the Mid-Major top 25 poll either ranked or honorable mentioned. If we do go to the WNIT it will be disappointing but also a chance to play some other good teams and give the pundits something to think about. So enjoyed the team this year and would go watch them play pick up games in the park. Buffalo and Kent will be tough as they have some all MAC players.

Hard fought win at Kent today. Kent battled them. A good pre tourney test. 2 seed locked. Doubt Toledo will lose although they still have a game with Kent.
