Well I was just going on what he said. I agree with you. What ever happened to the 6-5 Blazek pro style QB. Thought he was touted as being really good. An excellent question. He's not even come close. Would love to know why he hasn't developed either. Are we not identifying QB's who can actually play? Or are we just not developing them to the point they can get on the field and succeed? Mike developed Plitt into an NFL quarterback. Clearly Paddock had potential but our OL was awful last year. I don't think its fair to say that Mike can't identify and develop quarterbacks.

The win loss record, inconsistent qb play, paddock having some success elsewhere, plus all the other qbs we’ve recruited over 8 years who never panned out would seem to call into question the strength of qb selection and development. Hell we had to try 3 qbs this year just to find one who could move the team and even at that we were pretty limited in what our qb could do in his 3rd year at bsu.

You are suggesting that Paddock came here, got zero developmental help then went to Illinois and did what he did? That Neu had nothing to do with his development? And Plitt? That's what you said, I'm just trying hard to believe that's what you really meant.

Heck, even Riley Neal did better once he got out. Something is clearly very wrong with how Neu and staff handle QB's.

That's what you said, I'm just trying hard to believe that's what you really meant. The QB development has been so good that those studs helped us to one winning season and one .500 regular season in 8 years. Paddock went to Illinois and did better because he got better support around him and had a better offensive system to play in. That neu hasn't provided a better system for QB's to truly prosper, if they are as developed as you say they are, is STILL on Neu because that in no way shape or form fully develops kids. The system held them back = poor development. If Plitt is an NFL QB then he must have been an absolute stud his final year at BSU, what with the entire team coming back. We should have dominated. That had to be his best year. Oh, it wasn't? His best year statistically was 2019. He didn't get incrementally better his last two years. He WAS really good in 2020 when we needed him to be to win the MAC and the bowl game. But what happened to him his final year that caused us to struggle to win 6 games? He even got pulled after a really bad start at Wyoming. We had trouble scoring touch downs in key moments down the MAC stretch that year. His completion % and qb rating were his lowest. Paddock was at BSU 5 years. Shouldn't he have been a lot better last year after all that development? And a well developed and skilled QB can overcome a bad line. Hell, Steele rushed for a crap ton of years behind that bad line (yes, alot on his own) so Paddock should have been able to take advantage of stacked boxes. He couldn't. He made A LOT of really poor throws. Kelly is in year 3. He still struggles to be an efficient passer even with all that development he's gotten over that time. Bottom line, Mike will be back. Ok, that's fine, I'm always rooting for him. He's one of my all time favorite Cardinals. I hope the offense gets updated/improved/modernized/better schemed next year and whoever the qb is, probably Semonza, is a winner.
