Ugly first half. Shooting just 34.5% FG and 30.0% on 3's. Don't have the quickness and athleticism to defend. Even Bell looked like he was in quicksand when Sullinger blew by him. Jihad continues to frustrate with his poor dibbling and not being strong with the ball as he had 3 TO's. Need Pearson, Jihad & Anderson to step up their games in the 2nd half. Bailey was the one shining star for us.

Need the defense to step up! Kent is getting way too good of looks on us.
Hendriks with 2 points and 0 rebounds? Wonder if he’s still recovering from whatever illness he had.

Well, at least it was over in time for the Beverly Hillbillies to start.
Coach is blistering the team on the radio postgame. Says this might be the smartest Ball State team in the classroom but they are not smart at all on the floor. He's beside himself.
He says it starts with him and we are a very poorly coached team.
He says he'd going to fix it.
The post game press conference should be interesting.

Well I actually thought this would be a 25 - 30 pt loss tonight. Not saying that the Cardinals looked good bc I really thought they didn’t but I’m surprised that it was only a 13pt loss. We do not have the manpower up front to do anything.

If we can be .500 this year I might be happy. We just don't have the horses to compete and that is on the coach.

Not sure what breakthrough moment we need to start clicking on all fires trough. It should start with playing with more fire and passion on the court. I don’t see us getting animated out there. Our body language is way too quiet. We need to play with a chip on our shoulder. I wonder if our team even knows that we haven’t won a conference title in dang near 25 years now! That’s a pretty big chip to me.

MAC Scores - Some surprises.
Bowling Green beats Eastern Michigan in overtime 92-90 at BG. Buffalo beats Central Michigan 76-65 at CMU. Western Michigan beats Miami 83-74 at Miami. Toledo beats Ohio 86-77 at OU. Kent State beats Ball State 82-69 at Kent. Akron clobbered Northern Illinois in Dekalb 73-51. Good news! NIU repainted their ugly, nauseating to look at floor. I read EMU is replacing their football field too. Can we be fortunate enough that they scrap their stupid and painfully ugly gray field?

We do not have the manpower up front to do anything. The reason is because the competition isn't very good. Kent has some athletes, but they're not basketball players (save Payton, but he's even pretty sloppy). They are quick, but very haphazzard. Our guards got destroyed off the dribble all night long. That's where more than half of the problems stem from. Jihad just chucks up shots and turns it over unnecessarily a lot. Hendriks, ugh. Pearson looks lost lately. We totally disappear for long stretches and dig big holes most games. This team isn't even remotely fun to watch.

Our bench is Middleton, Jones and tonight Bell and the Zaggy. Three freshmen and a RS sophomore who’s not very good. And while Hendricks has had a few moments he’s as consistent as the weather. Jones is the one guy who will give us 8 and 6 most nights plus he’s got a good IQ and just makes plays. Everyone else other than our main four is not very good. Our record is padded with cupcakes and now we’re going to be lucky to be a .500 team in conference. It takes a level of toughness and experience to win on the road in your league plus you have to have some quality depth who can contribute CONSISTENTLY. Gang, that’s not us.
One more stat, if the ESPN box score is accurate, blew my mind tonight. We had six assists and Jalen had five of them. ONE dime for the rest of your squad in 40 minutes? Unreal.

This team isn't even remotely fun to watch. I’ve turned off plenty of games in disgust over the past 20 years, but tonight was truly rare for me as I didnt bother to watch. I checked the score a couple of times and tuned in for about 40 seconds in the 2nd half. But otherwise I just didnt want to see it.

Not sure what breakthrough moment we need to start clicking on all fires trough. The "clicking on all fires" line never gets old.

It's easy as a to identify problems and issues, but creating a plan to work the players out of the problems and issues is vital.
