I done see Lewis and Cochran working well together. Maybe not, but then again, his improved productivity may reflect some gains in maturity. To be clear, I'm not suggesting we spend recruiting time, effort and NIL in making a pursuit of him. Just saying I would take him, shorts and all.

14.4 ppg on efficient shooting at all levels and 6.4 rpg. Key starter on a 14-4 MAC team...Say what you want but I'd take him. Yet when he played for us that was not really the case and he was a bit of a turnover machine. Maybe it was the Whit effect. He was a decent player for us. Hard to use for any coach, not a ball handler or passer. So he probably plays best off the ball where good guards draw a double team on drives. He then gets mismatch or open shot. Don't expect him to pass out though. He's not any easy player to fit in. He's not a guard, probably best looked at as a SF. He's almost a 6-3 PF, a big body, strong, can guard bigger guys easier than guards. Sort of a mismatch on both ends. Not a good defender against anybody. Good going to the board, though. For us we now have talent on the wing, he's not a good fit.

I know things seem to be forever fluid, but don't we have a full roster? At least in theory?
You'd be asking Lewis to go back on an offer of a spot to someone. There might be someone out there worth making that decision. Not sure it's Cochran.

I would not touch him as he is all about himself; he can’t spell team!
I also heard from a couple of players that he was not good in the locker room

I done see Lewis and Cochran working well together. Nope. Free spirit vs Mr. Intensity. Cochran’s croc collection would get destroyed…. However, Lewis and Knight would be like Cochran and Lewis!

No. Knight and Lewis had a lot in common, both intense and tough, both valuing team play above individual play, both in that way winners. Both had some ego, but not exactly free spirits.
Cochran is a good player but individualistic, not nearly as much team oriented, and does not seem to be seeking out winning as he leaves places, and he could really help them win had he stayed.
Some of that may be NIL but I don't get this latest move on any count, must be a reason.

Everything said is true but Ill add while a complete weirdo he is honest. He once sent me a message that I shared with cardfan. It was basically an apology saying we never got his best. He went on to say he was not well liked and alot of that was his own fault. IMO he just does not mix well with anyone for an extended period of time

You have to wonder how long this is going to work for him.

Sort of a mismatch on both ends. Not a good defender against anybody. FYI - Cochran was MAC co-defensive player of the year. But other than that, your comment was very perceptive. I would also note that individualistic, non-winning-focused Cochran's team was 30-6 in the MAC the last two years with two regular season titles. There have been somewhere around 120 players come and go from BSU since the last time that has happened here. Not sure that BSU fans have much standing from which to criticize Cochran on the grounds of winning focus.

And he was not interested in staying with his team mates under Lewis who was going to win. He's a good player, he'd have made a difference.
Maybe that is sour grapes on my part.

Moot point, really. The kid admitted he didn’t give us his best and wasn’t well liked. He didn’t stay to play for Lewis. He was much better at Toledo. He left. He bailed on OSU before playing there. He doesn’t stick. We’re full. We don’t need him. Moving on.

What RMCalhoun and Cardfan said is right on point and ties back to my comment that he wasn’t liked by several of his teammates
