I'm a history nut and especially a WWII nut. I almost hyperventilated while looking at all the planes they have there. Which one's your favorite? Well, Spitfire obviously. Surely even this group of contentious clowns can agree on the most beautiful airplane ever made. P51, ME262, and Mosquito would be among those making a good case for 2nd place. You?

I want to go back and see the WWI airplanes. I've never seen that hanger(s) yet. It's one of the newer exhibits, although not "new" anymore. It's amazing how many different airplane manufacturers there were in the early days, and how many different engines they made, revamped, trashed, and made again. It was all new at the time, the leaps in engineering in just a few years is pretty wild.

I got chills going through the museum in Dayton. In the mid or early 50s two B-36 bombers flew over my house in Anderson They were slow but big. Saw the one in person at the museum stated that there was a couple miles of wiring in it. Also my favorite fighter of WWII is the P-38 think I saw a black night fighter P-38 there. Once at the AndersonElks I noticed that the guy sitting next to me had a P-38 lapel pin. I asked him if he had flown one. He said yes and related the story of how he was cruising along in it and another fighter blew past him. It was a German jet. the P-38 top speed was about 400 and it really got his attention. So enjoyed talking to these veterans of WWII at the Elks. One other was on the plane with Truman when they went to fire Gen. MacArthur. He said afterward that Pres. Truman was so angry that he sat in the back of the plane with a bottle of bourbon. Somebody next to me asked a fellow Elk how he lost his right arm he quietly replied D-Day. No other questions were asked. These were just regular guys from Anderson, In. that laid it all on the line so that my generation born in 1941 could have a life. I am forever grateful for them. The Anderson Elks is gone and so are most if not all of the veterans I drank with. They are not forgotten and no They are NOT LOSERS.

One of my neighbors down the street from me where I grew up worked at that Air Force base. Rumor has it that he wasn’t even allowed to tell his family what he did there. So obviously that means he knows where the aliens are or he we was keeping Elvis cryogenically frozen.

Worst game ever of the Whitford era! Hope you enjoy the game Rob! If you’re planning on checking any local establishments out before the game I recommend Warped Wing Brewery and/or Thai 9 restaurant. Those are two of my favorites around there. Going to have the kids with me so unless warped wing is a restaurant no can do.. They are also not touching Thai... So its probably going to be grab some Mcds Look up Old Scratch Pizza instead then. That place is legit.

I’ve been to Wright-Pat Museum many times and see something different every time. The Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles is very very good and, if you’re ever in the Pacific NW, the Boeing Museum of Flight is top notch

That place is legit. About 15-20 minutes east of Wright State is Yellow Springs, Ohio. A quirky place to visit. Just north of there is Young's Jersey Dairy. Good ice cream and an assortment of sandwiches. Also on premises is a family-style restaurant, driving range, batting cages, mini golf. Glen Helen Nature Preserve next to Yellow Springs. Good place to do some hiking.

If you have a few hour layover, it's time well spent. If you can go to the Air and Space Museum in DC, do it. You will not be disappointed.

It appears that Wright Patt and surrounding sites will be more interesting than this game. I hope we surprise and are competitive.

I already have the uneasy feeling that random, tangential topics are more interesting and a needed respite from pondering the details of a disappointing basketball season, as they have been for 20+ years now. Hopefully this is a early and mistaken impression.

Hopefully this is an early and mistaken impression. We talk best places to eat in Dayton and best WW2 fighter planes (Spitfire for dogfighting, P-51 Mustang for range and toughness of course) while the Dayton board discusses how much they’ll win by tonight. Most posters over there think 10-20 range.
