I like Neu and want him to succeed but he and Whitford went to the same school that taught How to Begin Games Super Slow and Flat. Neus tenure almost makes Whitfords tenure look quite good granted I know Whitfords first 2 years were comparably terrible.

I waited until today to post anything because of the letdown I felt yesterday. As many of you know I advocated retaining Neu for the length of his contract recently. As of this week I will stand by those words until and unless the AD decides he has lost the team's confidence. As most of you know if a staff loses the locker room the party is OVER. A young team is frustrating to root for because they will lay a few eggs during the course of a season. Yesterday they laid a TURD. What is bothering me at this point is that Neu seems not to know what to do. He has to have a ''Come to Jesus" meeting, refocus these players and the staff on the targets they set at the beginning of the season. He has to show that he will reclaim what is his, the role of the leader on this team. If we can win two of the remaining games there is a good chance he can show the squad the success and progress we have all talked about. If not, we may be seeking a new coach and watching a mass of player transfers. Nothing could be more devastating for the program. Coach Neu, at this point it is up to you to rally the''troops'' and get them to play up to their ability and save this program from another four or five years of mediocre football. I feel you can do it and I hope that you know you can do it. Good Luck there are many pulling for you.

He’s already lost them. The on field behavior and body language were not good yesterday. Shocking after coming off a win.

Maybe mike can circle the wagons and get heads out of asses. That vets are getting benched is not good and all the unsportsmanlike penalties yesterday were a bad look. And I saw some offensive players gesture at the sidelines after plays were called as if “why are we running that?”
So somethings gotta give here. Either we go down in flames the rest of the way and it gets uglier, or the staff gets these kids to rally and compete and play with a purpose, unlike yesterday.

With the injuries we have in the o-line we might as well unleash the Rileys and the rest of the receivers and see what we can do winging it DOWNFIELD a bit more. Success in the air would loosen the running game. If the scouts are certain we can run it ok. If not, I say, let the MACTION begin...''RELEASE THE HOUNDS''. What do have to lose?

I would venture to say each of BSUs last 4 opponents are better than any opponent BSU has defeated since the start of 2015. It could get worse before it gets better.

All offenses that will chew our defense up. Especially the secondary. Unfortunately our offense is dysfunctional and can’t keep up.

Ohio is going to run the ball against BG they had 24 FDs running & 8 passing. They ran for 392 yds. They are averaging 40 runs & 25 passes a game. It is true they are averaging 248 yds passing & 208 rushing. They beat Kent by 1 pt & lost by 3 to NIU. We can play with them.

Our odds of winning each of the next 4 games is around 1 in 6 chance for each. Any win is a good sized upset, I just want a good game in a couple of these with a chance to win.
We have maybe a 50-50 chance to escape with one more win. We booted one here with EMU, not that we were favorites, but maybe had a slightly better chance than the rest to notch an upset.

Very hard to motivate the players to "get close then we have an outside chance to win." Kids need it simple.

If winning isn't enough motivation, I'm not sure what would be.

So our offense watches games the same way I do?

Damn straight. An example: early in the game we were backed up inside the emu 15(ish). Play signaled in, under used running back gestures in frustration— what was the play? Yep, You guessed it, a bubble screen with no bubble that went absolutely no where. Total waste of a down.
