With the way the MAC is so up and down, our remaining games are tough to call. We could go 4-1 or 0-5, depending on which teams show up.
EMU is playing pretty well. I don't see us beating WMU at all, while Ohio, Toledo and Miami are vulnerable.

I’m not sure our offense is consistent enough to keep up with the high octane offenses we’re going to see the rest of the way. The defense is going to break at some point and I can’t see us putting up 45 against those teams.
Emu is just tough and their qb killed Toledo with his legs. Doesn’t bode well for us.

I agree. I think we could win all those games or lose all of them. WMU is not that great. Most likely we win 1, maybe two. If I had to guess I’d say we win at Ohio or at Miami.

I don't see us beating any of those teams. They are all much better than us.

Sticking with my pre-season pick of 5. Crossing fingers and toes for a 6th.

From what I read, that kid is injured and might be out 2 weeks....?

Once more, good teams take advantage of a situation. EMU's QB is out. I say put pressure on his replacement and make him hurry his throws. That spells for third and long, not to mentions interception opportunities. We can play fast and loose. I like our chances. Ball State University 24 Eastern Michigan University 13.

Only problem is the backup was previously the starter so it’s not like we’ll be facing a nervous, inexperienced kid. Like I said, the kid we’ll face threw for 300 plus vs Purdue, so it’s not like he can’t do it. But yes we have to pressure him and get him off his spot. And hope the wind helps us. I just don’t trust our Secondary to keep him from going off

Its going to be tough either way and if we win it will be viewed as an upset. Again I am looking for improvement game to game. We won a close one last week now can we build on it

That’s it rob. What do we do with our win? Build on it or go backwards again?

and again its speculative at best. Whats improvement on a game by game basis? Based on last year we would most all agree we are improved and we have been in all of our games minus IU. Thats what the majority of us wanted to see. Problem is even though we are improved in a lot of areas we seemed to have went backwards in others. I know we have had some injuries but no more than any other team this year so we cant play that card... Its been interesting

That’s it rob. What do we do with our win? Build on it or go backwards again? Yeah well, the trouble with youth is that consistency is very inconsistent. I am afraid we have to just roll with it. If we play hard that is the constant we want. IU looked like a letdown, coaches have to somehow avoid that, perhaps a good object lesson in Bloomington.
Match ups in one game may expose weakness not seen in the first, so a difference in performance may not mean going backwards so much. IU benefited from seeing our good play and to some extent took advantage of that.
Play hard and on average play up to our potential that is all we can ask. The trouble is our average is accompanied by a large degree of variation around the mean. Mental toughness across the board and the discipline to avoid slumps is just not in the Cards, I fear.
