I didn't watch very much of last night. Just sighed a lot when I did and then turned it. Same here. And I used to be the guy who had to walk home after games because everyone I went with had already left but I refused to give up hope.

It's time to clean house. Neu has shown me nothing in three years that I would consider the hallmark of a promising young coach. To this point, his most memorable moments have been complaining about someone running up the score and punting on 4th and 2 at the end of the last game of the season.

I think Neu, from what I see on the side line, looks and acts to be best suited to me an assisttant coach in a lower level conference...FCS type. He is not fiery coach which is a better personality in coaching. By the way, when I think of Neu what comes to my mind is spit/ting. Not sure but thats what I see on tv so I think of him more as a spitter. I wish he was a spitfireš. I wish him luck but the embarassing defeats must end...hopefully sooner than later.

Agreed. As coach he has not gone postal, but is not lacking fire.

I'm sorry, but Riley has had four years to change or develop and he hasn't. He had most of last year to watch what Milas and Plitt did and didn't do - the good and the bad - and learn from it, and apparently didn't. The coaching staff has had 3 years to teach, to develop, to coach Riley up and make him better ... and it hasn't succeeded. You've mentioned in the past that Plitt holds the ball too long. I think maybe Riley gets rid of the ball too fast. I know there have been points in this season where receivers were going to come open on deeper routes and Riley wouldn't hold the ball that long. He'd either dump it off on his typical sideline pass or take off running. The thing about Riley is that, man he looks the part and, quite frankly, Plitt doesn't. He's not as athletic, not the runner, doesn't have the arm. You want to believe Riley is going to get it, that he's going to come around and start playing as good as he looks. But 4 years. How much longer do you invest when your return has been very limited. Let's spend some time on Plitt or Paddock (and whatever QBs make it to campus next fall), trying to get them to take what skills they have, and maybe take what they can from Neal. Maybe they won't have his size or arm or running ability, but maybe they don't need it. And maybe they've got something he doesn't have, and never will. I think it's probably easier to instill a little caution in someone who might be a little too aggressive than it is to instill guts or bravado in someone who just doesn't have it. Exactly. Riley is a freaking stud physically but has always left us thinking āis that it?ā He was very aggressive as a freshman and took chances and then I swear Lembo put the brakes on after his first 3-4 games and he hasnāt been the same since. He made plays vs Texas A and M and Northwesten and then lead the comeback vs emu then put up huge numbers vs niu that season and then boom, was suddenly really timid and played horizontally after that. He got dialed back and thatās what weāve seen since then. Heās had occasional bursts but not consistently. Plitt isnāt near the talent but when heās been out there he hasnāt been afraid to push it downfield and we just donāt see that with Riley. The question becomes, is that by design or is Riley limited in what we can call for him? Or Maybe Neu/lynch havenāt put the best game plans around Rileyās talent? Square peg round hole? I donāt know but these last two games (maybe the last of Neuās tenure) are a chance to experiment with Plitt and paddock. But I donāt know that mike will play paddock. This is exactly what has been so perplexing about Riley the past few years. As Calhoun has said, his stats are absolutely bankrupt. He was a real stud those first 5 games or so his freshman year. Lembo's ego led to taking the limelight off Riley and limiting the playbook. It was bizarre, and seemed to suck the life out of Riley, and he has never fully bounced back from it. I think next spring and fall Neu (or whomever the coach is) needs to truly open the position up for competition and let guys really fight it out. Of course if they can't dramatically upgrade the OL through the JUCO ranks then it really makes no difference who you put under center.

Only Lembo as a head coach would be jealous of a freshman QB that had talent. Isn't that what you try to recruit? Lembo was and is a tool.

The first drive proved that we have the players to make plays. However, it's the coaches making the play calls that kill us Stop haha! That doesn't make sense...

He came out strong because nobody had film on him. Once teams get film on people they tend to slow them down.
