I mean I'd like to say the opposite, but I just don't see how one could. Right? We’ve proved nada since Lembos last two years. As fans we can say whatever but the proof is on the field and in the record. Of course I hope that changes this year. We all do. But fans saying it’s going to be different is meaningless. Has to happen with players and coaches on Saturdays.

Just remember the ND game last year. I believe these guys will step up. I do not think IU will intimidate them. Why would they be intimidated? We might be favored, but this is Indiana. Not Clemson. A 17 point spread isn't a drop in the bucket. That would be a similar spread of buffalo bills traveling to New England. Most national publications rank BSU around 115th nationally.

I think it will be 41-20 IU but I hope this prediction sucks. I have a bad feeling floodgates will open late 2nd quarter in IUs favor.

Especially if the offense has consecutive 3 and outs. The past couple of seasons that scenario crushed us with our inexperienced defense. I’d like to think our defense can bend a little more this season and not break immediately after short offensive series.

I mean, I certainly feel like we will win. But by no means do I think Ball State sucks this year. You guys are the best Non-Con team we play.
Also. Penix was announced as the QB today. So that battle is over.

I’m going to say 42-17, IU, unfortunately.

No way we win but Ive been around a bit this preseason and there is quiet confidence surrounding the team. Im not sure it has been there the last couple years its like they have found a rallying point. I do not know if it will last if losses start mounting but for right now I like the mental side of it

I’m saying top 4 in the MAC. Based on? I think your defense will be good(by MAC standards). I think that Huntley will have a really good year. Your O-line is one of the best in the MAC. Plitt looks like he’s pretty decent. Riley Miller is an All-MAC WR. You guys will be much improved. I don’t expect to see the same BSU team of the last 2 seasons.

So that battle is over. I think that was the right move for IU. I was hoping for Ramsey, despite him torching us last year, because he seems less of a big play threat. I wonder if we see the line move up a point or two after this announcement.

Penix is not the passing threat like we faced last year.
He only threw 34 balls last year but is a threat with his ability to scramble.
I prefer that situation and feel it is much like the QB situation we faced against Notre Dame last year IMO.

He only threw 34 balls last year because he didn’t play that much. Be careful what you wish for.
