I heard Godett say Hendriks didn't make the trip, has pink eye, but where was Acree? Huggins?
I mean even if they're crap right now, Hazen goes down in a blowout and instead of putting either of them in you put Teague back out there.
And you still have Thompson and El-Amin on the court at the end. I mean I heard Ish's dad was seeing him play for the first time in college so I guess you can kinda justify that but WTH. Give Bum or Kroft or Coleman some more time.

Should have had Huggins in for those last 2 minutes with a 20 point lead. Hazen wouldn't have hurt his wrist if he had been on the bench.

Look at what we witnessed we win by 19 over a team without of 4 of their best players. We see Teague & Walton score underneath & El amin gets a few points I am just not impressed. The only thing they did well was not turn the ball over, we barely out rebounded them, we miss our foul shots & are horrible on 3s. Thomas is a major disappointment. Why do you not play Hendrix & Huggins ? I will be surprised if we are within 10 points of ISU this weekend.

If they truly had 4 of 5 starters not playing, we have no conclusions to draw from this game.

UIC looked awful but I will take the road win. My concern is much more about how this team regresses in conference play compared to nonconference play. It's unfortunate that Hazen is injured.

Probably will not know much until our next game. Whitford usually isn't real informative about these type of things; only giving out the information when he has too. Hopefully it's something minor like a jammed finger or something. On the other hand, if it's something like a broken wrist (pure speculation on my behalf), then we're in real trouble.

If Whitford wasn’t gonna play those guys last night why would we think they’ll get significant opportunities soon? And again, what the hell with Acree? Supposed to be a great recruit and he can’t get on the floor in a blowout?

If Whitford wasn’t gonna play those guys last night why would we think they’ll get significant opportunities soon? And again, what the hell with Acree? Supposed to be a great recruit and he can’t get on the floor in a blowout? I would guess he was trying to get Hazen in gear, and looking for the best rotation.
Acree isn't relevant to the Hazen discussion, he is a wing player, and apparently Coleman, Kroft and Thomas are ahead of him. All need minutes also. I can see trying to get them up to speed is a priority over giving Acree garbage time minutes.
Good question about Acree who was a pretty good player as a HS recruit when he committed at the start of his senior year. He is reportedly healthy enough to practice full speed. He did have both injury and illness to deal with that year, into last year as a R/S.
Other than just being behind good players, two issues other than his ability at that time he signed are possible in delaying his return to form. Both related to the lay off. One, injury and illness are still lingering with him, he's less than 100. And second that the resulting absence from competitive play due to sitting out and recovery has required more time than everyone hoped. It's not the top issue we face, but a good question for somebody who can get in and see some practice . Doubt coaches will address it publicly.

If so, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell you.
