The thing about this supposed depth is it is/was all unproven. The coaches are going to say whatever it take to make it seem like everything is great.. Remember Acree is the best player whit has ever had on campus. The loss of Moses and Persons had people asking how we were going to to replace them. The easy answer is to say we are going to have so much depth with our 5 newcomers. For whatever reason people never question what the coach says. They just believe it because they want too. Some of these guys were seen at practice or in tournament against subpar canadian teams in COsta rica but thats it. Ive been friends with and have been able to get to know a lot of our coaches in both Basketball and football none have ever really told the truth when you ask a question. They are all masters of coach speak. The other one we heard a lot was we are going to have better shooters.. Yes this is true but the thing is the shooters could not possibly be any worse than last years.. So again not a lie but classic coach speak

I wish SOMEONE in the media would ask Whitford what it means to "play the right way." I'm not asking someone to start a war of words, just freaking put him on the spot and don't let him get away with horsesh*t answers to questions.
I'd also like if someone would ask him why his roster has so many holes after 7 years.

I'd also like if someone would ask him why his roster has so many holes after 7 years. I don't think you would ever get him to answer that one. I think instead you would need to be creative in asking your questions. Like, what is your philosophy on recruiting? Do you go after and offer players who you think can help your team, or just the ones you think you can sign? When you can't get the players you want, what is the best thing to do with your scholarships, let them remain open until you find the guy your really want, or sign guys you really don't want? If you do sign guys who you really don't want, is it better to take guys with high upside but academic or social problems, or guys with limited abilities but good guys who will not hurt your program's image? You get the drift, questions that he might actually answer without feeling threatened.

TSP has one young kid who is just happy to have a job. He will not risk pissing off anyone and losing access.

It's insulting to the people who understand the game and are still fans enough to hang on every word of our coaches and players. "Playing the right way" really means "we coached them the right way".
