I want to add that while Im ok with the extension. Had the article instead read Neu has been fired I would have been ok with that as well.. I just knew the latter was not going to happen and the lame duck status I was not ok with Yes

Ill add another thing if we were ever going to fire him it should have last year. When it did not happen then it was obvious it was not going to happen. At the end of last year Beth laid some pretty easy goals in an interview.. Good Kids, Good grades.. Program moving in the right direction and being competitive in the MAC.. They met those goals

I’m for it. I think a lot was said earlier about 4 or 5 wins. Would it be enough. There was discussion that it would be if we were competitive in the losses. That’s what happened. Just couldn’t close the deal.
Now let’s see if the staff stays in tact.

That whole article is a great big nothing burger. The extension shouldn't be for more than one year. The dude needs to prove he can truly win games.

This yr has been no better than his 1st yr unless he gets win # 5 Friday. We lost 6 games in 16 where we were within 10 pts & 2 within 3.We lose Friday we finish last in division same as yr 1 although we may be tied with someone.

And yet, just a few points from being in the MAC Championship game.

Losing gets in your blood and then coming close to winning begins to seem like winning.
That’s where we are now ........(go back and read football and basketball threads over last 3 years).
Reading the article closely, it appears Beth doesn’t think y’all are astute enough to recognize Neu’s progress and that she has seen through all of this to reach the obvious extension conclusion. See....close to winning begins to seem like winning.
On another note. How many freaking years did this joker Whitford get extended by Sandy and how much is his buyout?

She is quoted in the article.
When you sit in the BIG chair, it’s your decision and you stand at attention when you announce it

We’re so used to losing that we’re satisfied with almost winning. It’s disgusting.

And it's especially frustrating when you consider we are really bad in some key areas of the game - special teams, defense, ball security, penalties (overall discipline)
