Distaste for recruiting and avoiding it is not suggesting the staff is lazy? Okay, certainly you must be right General! And, you are very cute General to tell me to shut the fuck up....thats low class shit given the posts I've made which were not personally attacking anyone!!!! My position is very clear...when something good or reasonably good happens whether its a win, or a recruit, etc. I choose to give staff or whomever credit! Pretty simple. I didn't tell YOU to stfu but I will suggest you're an idiot for not being able to understand the clear distinction I made between Whitford and the staff

Maybe you can quote the post where somebody has called out the STAFF for being lazy. Because I think this is one of you typical dishonest straw man tactics to keep bringing that up.
Many of us have noted that WHITFORD appears to have a distaste for recruiting and avoids it when he can get away with it.
But I want you to point out where posters "call out the staff as lazy." Otherwise maybe you should STFU about that. For all I know, we have the hardest working assistants in the history of basketball. But if so, their efforts are seriously hampered by the head man being a low-horsepower recruiter.
There are numerous posts calling our recruiting lazy. I have never seen that. Whitford is not lazy, or any other member of the staff.
So, give me or Sherm or anyone else your idea of how long we should reasonably expect to WIN a title under this or any coach? Majerus did it in two. Is it a decade? I honestly don't think we will be a title team next season with the departure of our top two scorers and best outside threats, so that will take us into year 9 or beyond. I've always said I like our players and staff. I just don't think we have the guy at the helm who can consistently attract enough difference-making players to our program and then lead them to a title. It's not a personal thing at all. And we have more than an ample sample size to know what we have or don't have. THAT is the crux of the argument for anyone labeled a naysayer versus the jock sniffers.

Who are the "difference-makers" in the MAC that have helped teams win championships in the last 3, 4, 5 years?

Dameizi Anderson is leaving IU. Whit had recruited him. He’s a 6’7 wing, which is right up whits alley.

So, then, as I well knew, you aren't able to back up your charge that we "call out the staff for being lazy". But you'll keep on claiming that because you're dishonest like that

And then Loren Cristian Jackson at Akron. Jimmy Hall is debatable since they made a great run from a 10-8 MAC season. All guards (Harris was kind of positionless, often running their half-court offense). Nate Oats unquestionably was and is an excellent recruiter and has continued to do so at Alabama as was Hurley. No argument there. And I don't think Clark or Cristian Jackson would have been kids Whitford would have gone after since they both had more baggage than it seems like he's interested in dealing with.

We have a decent, better than average roster and have had for the past several years under Whitford. He just has plateaued IMO, as many of us agree. Others I guess are either OK with being decent but not great and/or have convinced themselves that this is good enough or all we can ever hope to be...except that every year someone from our league WINS THE DAMN LEAGUE and they seem to recruit better, have a better system, or a better coach or ALL THE ABOVE. Sorry, not shouting just emphasizing.

I think Whitford has had two players who could have been/were difference-makers:
Persons was one, probably the only one, and it was, in part, because as the primary ball-handler he could just call his own number whenever he felt the need to "make a difference."
Teague could have been. Despite his fine senior season, I would continue to contend that under another coach, in another system, he could have put up 18 ppg/10rpg not only as a senior, but probably as a junior as well. He could have been a real go-to guy. First-team all-MAC both years, maybe an MVP.

General, apologize I guess that you told someone else???
But, I well understand the distinction you're trying to make but in my view they are all the BSU basketball staff....guess they is an argument either way.
Not certain why you need to name call....I have but I really try hard not too.
And, I'D go for Anderson who was a 4 star out of SB coming out of HS

Yes, I was telling 00 to STFU and that was only pertaining to a specific false thing he's been saying.
Sorry for the name calling.
