That’s good I guess. It would be great if the performance lives up to the hype.

If he could find a jump shot he would be a big time player

That is the rub. True physical talent.

I believe a healthy KJ will provide double digit points, rebounds, steals, and defense.
He's a good kid and should have a great final campaign.

I have a question or two regarding Walton, certainly not criticism, as I know little about him. But I have to wonder if he really wants to go through another college season with academics, etc. considering the uncertainty of what next season will be; when it will actually take place and under what format. Not to imply anything but perhaps Walton views the extra year of eligibility as a backup plan; in the interim he perhaps recovers from his injury/surgery, gets in playing condition and makes a concerted effort to latch on with an overseas professional league team, of course, assuming they would have a season and so forth. Again, I emphasize this is just musing/speculation on my part.

Statistics say......not a difference maker. Not sure what that means, he should be a solid MAC player we are glad we have.
Not a leading scorer, although getting to double digits is possible, but he should be a good defender get on the offensive boards and generate some offense that way.

Or will he take playing time from a younger/better player? What’s his position? 3? He can’t play at guard.

Or will he take playing time from a younger/better player? What’s his position? 3? He can’t play at guard. Acree is the player he may compete with for minutes. He is also a wing and athletic. But having depth with two players who play that way is just fine with me.
I don't think we can look at 1,2,3,4,5. Except on D.
He will defend the best wing player, guard or forward.
On offense there is not that much difference between SF and SG. I group the two positions as wing players, where he will be a guard driving to the basket on occasion, but I think he gets his points on the break and also can get a lot of garbage points on the offensive board if we spread the court.

I don't think the questions with Walton are can he score in double figures? Can he rebound a little? Can he play defense? He's already proven he can do all those things.
I think the questions are is he a good fit for this team? Is he a good teammate?
I think he's a square peg on a team made up of positions that are all round holes. We're barely a .500 team with him in he lineup. IMO he displayed extreme selfishness last year and, if things don't go his way this year, I would worry that he could create problems.

He is not the Big we have been promised! In fact after reading the article in the Star Press about our new guard, Whitford sure does not sound like a coach who has another signee waiting in the wings. In fact, it sounds like they are still looking and hoping one falls into our laps.
