What a different second half. We attacked more and got Thompson out of the game. Thompson is a big time talent with a pea size brain. The kid should dominate. Trey was much better in the second half and Mallers has been great. He is smart and knows his limitations. Plays within himself and has been our most consistent player to date. Good win over a more athletic and talented team. The transfer they got from Robert Morris is very good. Nice player. Great win and on to the next.

A key stat— 20 assists. Much better than the last few games. When we share we’re pretty good.

A very good win for the Cards tonight on a night when the threes were not falling. It's good to get a win in the conference opener and always to get the W at home. I thought this looked to be a much better, more well rounded team than the Eastern teams from past seasons. Go Cards! RF I agree. Eastern, with the zone, and with the athletes is a very dangerous team in the tournament. They just need to focus and they are one of the best teams in the MAC. Would love to see them play in the opposite bracket in the tournament. With Buffalo... These are the two teams who when they play very well, we may not be able to beat without a phenomenal game.

I don't want to be too hard on Persons, he had 6 assists to 3 TO, was a marked man, and did get a lot of rebounds we needed against an athletic team. He is making too many mistakes, but a lot are in the nature of trying for something good.

Can someone fill me in on what happened to Gunn and ish Gunn injured. (Unknown status) Ish needs development Not clear where either would have played more tonight, maybe Gun for Sellers a little. But, basically we played the guys who had seen this zone 7 times, probably a good idea.

A key stat— 20 assists. Much better than the last few games. When we share we’re pretty good. Not very good shooting, except FTs, and some were shots we'd expect to hit. No fouls to speak of. A stat I learned to like as a goal which we achieved in this game is hitting more FTs than the other team attempted. You have to also like the balance and experience in a game like this. We played mostly 8 guys, and all deserve credit.

Buffalo scored 104. What would be the strategy to win that game...I dont think we can keep up basket for basket with them

Considering how much they love small ball, to shoot 21.7% from 3 and win by 10 was nice. Good job by Mallers and Trey.

By the way, our two softees that were referred to by a few had collectively 25 points and 18 rebounds....just saying....I'll take some more of that soft Kid, not to burst your bubble but they are soft. Moses scored a bunch of points when Thompson went out. He rarely attacks the rim against stronger opponents, he rather use the glass instead of going through the opponent. That by definition is playing soft and not strong. We doubled and tripled Thompson when he got the ball on the post. Trey very rarely gets doubled. I like both players, Trey and Teague but our major weakness is when we have to play against tougher interior teams, we don’t match up well. It is our Achilles heal. But hey, as long as we win we can live with it.

I don't agree that their soft and just because you say its so doesn't make it so....we were playing Thompson pretty well even when he was in the game...hell, your wonder boy fouled out..we have been much better than you thought but I have not heard you out and out say it...along with a few others I might add.
Maybe to your point they are neither bruisers but they play well defensively rebound and score...
And, how about some kudos to your favorite coach Whit for adjustments at half

To beat Buffalo we will need to play Tyler more to stop their leading guard scorer....Massinberg.

We got away with playing a good half of a game. Can't do that with the top tier in the conference. That being said, we won and on to the next game.
