He has been formally charged with a crime. Even if he completes his diversion program and the charges were dismissed, he ain’t coming back this season and more likely never.

Im a pretty laid back guy and I have made a lot of mistakes in my life. I also normally believe in giving someone a second chance. I will just lose a lot of respect for everyone involved if they bring back Walker. I do not care if its diverted and even removed from his record. You just can not beat up a girl and then be a representative of a university. Had he got caught smoking up, drinking, shoplifting or even beating the shit out of a guy maybe. But bouncing a girls head of the street just feels different to me.

Most everyone that went to college and many who did not, smoked, drank, got in a fight, stole a pizza or dined and dashed, and were still pretty good kids but you can''t hit a woman, period, end of story. Ya just don't do it. If he did it, he should be GONE.

I doubt we'll know for sure what happened and that's the problem. Very serious offense charged, nobody going to say it's not.
As far as that goes, its serious if he hit his boyfriend...

I will likely pull my financial support of the athletics program if he is welcomed back on to the team. It's not much, but I won't support a program that supports the beating of women (except in NCAA sanctioned events).

If you invest in a young man, I think you wait to find out all of the facts from the investigation and then make a decision. I think that's what the school and team are doing. From this article: "Some 75% of the wrongful convictions for rape and murder, including a number that led to people being scheduled for execution, were based on eyewitness testimony." I am not suggesting I know what happened, nor am I defending him, but what makes any of you so sure about his guilt?

Ok. Either the girl lied to the police about what he did to her or she’s lying now about him being innocent. She’s not an eyewitness, she’s the VICTIM. Her story was corroborated by the eyewitness. That’s two independent people who don’t know each other saying the same thing. That would sure seem to tilt the scales towards guilt. Unless of course both the accuser and the eyewitness are lying.

Apparently the prosecutor sees the proof as not completely convincing, and/or having seen many similar cases thinks this is not quite as clear what should be done.
What BSU should do is harder, not so easy to decide. I can't be as 100% sure as some here are.

Again, I have no idea what really happened, but you are taking a stance supported by what could easily turn to dust. Why are you so sure of your view of this?
