Good stuff, so far about what I expected from most.

That ND win is looking less impressive by the day.

It really doesn’t even matter anymore.

My best guess behind the extensions were that Sandy and the BoT saw a turn in the program, going from back to back seasons of dog shit to a 21-win season, with writing on the wall for a repeat performance. The thought being that if Whit could put together another season or two of 20+ win seasons and make a run in a tourney, a bigger school would come sniffing and the university would make money on a contract buyout. I can't believe either extension didn't come with an increase in the buyout should Whit dart for greener pastures.
The problem comes from basing that assumption on a single (semi)successful season.

BSU leadership proves that, in the major sports, all a coach has to do is float and not make waves to earn the $250K+. They don't even have to dog paddle or back stroke or make any forward progress. As long as they can come close to a .500 winning or losing %, they good.
.......and we lap it up like the good fans we are....

No more extensions. I suspect Whit will be there when Sandy retires which will be sooner than Whit's contract. Then a new ad will deal with Whit based on his performance at that time.

I think at some time he could be terminated if BSU never progresses. It just won't this year or next year given the 2 extensions.
