I have no Idea how many shots he took but he is the only guy on the team that we know with a doubt will score for us every game. If Mallers and Teague have games where they do not show up. Points and shots have to come from somewhere. Tyler and Walker shots are gone. Who knows whats up with Kiapway. Thompson if forced into action is not going to shoot. Sellers shots comes from wide open looks he does not create anything. Where do you expect shots and offense to come from. Possibly from a PG who has more than a 1.3-1 assist to turnover ratio? He dominates the ball and thus forces the outcome to be predicated on his "theatrics". Not as big a fan as you, I guess.

I agree with you Ive said its not perfect or even the best thing. I just do not see us having any other option at this point

Persons has never been a real point guard. He is really a 2 guard that we have played as a point guard. The other option would be to move ISH to a starter and try Persons at the 2 . If you do that though is that throwing in the towell on this season? While Ish is showing some promise he is no where near ready to start and lead the show. We have no guards left on the roster

We have played 7 MAC games w/o Walker and gone 3-4. We were w/o Tyler for 1 game and won. Your option, albeit by default, ain't working.

Man I am not trying to argue with you I do not know the answer. Like I said I agree with you. I just do not see what other option we have. I think like it or not due to lack of guards we will likely see Persons taking even more shots. What do you suggest we do?

I dont know throwing a freshman who can not defend anyone into the starting rotation during the grind of conference play is a risky move. I think the season is toast no matter what just not sure we are going to see better results doing that

The quality of Persons shots is a problem for sure. And sometimes it feels like he’s got to “get his” outside of the offense. But who else is going to score consistently and stay aggressive? I’m game for trying moving him to the two and riding with ish. But that compromises the defense.

How many did Akrons guards get on Tayler yesterday?

I say go with El-Amin. At least try it. To think we can only use him to spare Persons is a recipe for failure.

I’m game for trying moving him to the two and riding with ish. But that compromises the defense. Ish is going to have to get a lot stronger. He is a very poor defender as Akron’s Freshman was able to get around him at will. He has to get in the weight room. You might see us change the things up with a more 3 out 2 in approach with Moses in High post and Teague in the low post.

This is exactly why we should have recruited another point guard in the 2018 class, instead of two more wings that can't shoot. Whit is setting us up for a horrible season in 2019-20.

I am not cashing this season in. I know these kids are going to play to the best of their ability. I just hope they are put in the best position to win...and not put in a position hoping to not lose.

How many did Akrons guards get on Tayler yesterday? Thats true but at least yesterday Persons was in position to defend most of the time. I am not sure if you were at the hame or not. There were several instances where El amin had no idea where he was even supposed to be on the floor. He had to have other team mates pointing him where he was supposed to be
